Re: Controlicz - Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
ok, this isn't an issue with Controlicz - there's an issue with the Alexa app - they've removed the 'forget' option!
You can still remove devices via the alexa web site.
As soon as they provide a 'sync' option in the API (i.e delta changes), i'll include it

Re: Controlicz - Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Hey everyone,
I just saw this Skill for the first time and I love that it is a thing. I do have a problem however.
Whenever I ask Alexa for a Temperature of one of my sensors, it always says that the device is not responding right now. If I ask it again, it responds right away with the correct temperature.
In the domoticz log, I can see the request coming in on the first time of asking. My internet is fairly fast, too - why does it fail on the first try ?
If I ask again after 5 minutes, it's the same thing - it "doesnt respond" on the first try, but works perfectly fine on the second try.
Any help is appreciated!

Hi
I'll take a look - device recognition with Alexa has always been a little fuzzy, and these type of recognition issue i've usually blamed on that! It seems that may not always have been the case

Alexa does get the name right ("Livingroom doesnt respond right now") and I can see the controlicz IP requesting data in the Domoticz log on the first try.
I do appreciate it! If this would work reliably for me, it would probably be my favorite skill. Keep it up!

Re: Controlicz - Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Hi @Hayman - I have made a change (which shouldn't have affected current service - but sounds like it might!) - i'll look right now.
If you're on, can you try changing the lights again, and PM me when you've done it? thx
@IDANIT - no - I think as I said before - the current API that Amazon provides is going to hold Routines back - i've made some changes to the new release, which a couple of users have tested, and seems better.
As soon as I can, i'll get Controlicz on to the new version. It's worth bearing in mind that this is voluntary, not my full time job!

Re: Controlicz - Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Hi Madgeni
Need someone inputs from you, or others...
First some info.
I have a Home automations system called IHC ,which makes it possible for me to control all my power outlets and light outlets .
That is being integrated with Domoticz currently and working fine thru Domoticz.
Furthermore i have a lot of HUE bulps and lights.
Hue is of course linked to both Domoticz and Alexa.
My issue is that even though i can turn my light on/off thru domoticzs ,it seems that using Alexa it talks directly with HUE and turn lights off on the
bulps and not on the "powerswitch" which means when theu are turn off ,i cannot turn them on with the lightswitch.
Amy comments on how to handle this ?
another ?
not sure how to make a setup where lights are handled one the same way no matter if its on/off or dimmering. today its on/off thru Domoticz and dimmering is directly thru hue.. Not sure if my explanation makes sence.
I tried to "force" communication to go thru Domoticz, but that basicly stopped HUE bulps working thru Alexa. still worked thru domoticz (on/off)

Re: Controlicz - Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Hi Madgeni,
I am trying to use the rules stuff with Alexa. I do most of my switching via ESPEasy and corresponding virtual devices (configured as switches) in Domoticz. These switches are discovered by Alexa and through Controlicz I can switch them on and off - fine.
When I try to use them in rules,I cannot set them on or off, but have only the choice to set them to values between 1 % and 99 %. Both values are not recognised by Domoticz and thus nothing happens.
Do you have any idea how to fix that ?
Thank you for Controlicz, which as an awesome addition to Domiticz.
Cheers
Josh

Re: Controlicz - Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
@Madgeni,
they do not show up as lights (lamp symbol), but as little houses with a wifi symbol inside - don't know, if that stands for switch or something else.
Anyway, in Domiticz they are switches (on/off, no percentage) and if I address them (through Alexa / Controlicz), they work fine. But in rules they don't ...
Thank you and best regards

Re: Controlicz - Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
stupid rules..!
This *might* get fixed in the next release of Controlicz by accident. The new version of the Amazon API requires categories (switch/light/temp etc etc), and i wonder if Rules will interact with them to identify the behaviours it can use..
As an FYI to all, i've made the changes to Controlicz under the covers in readiness for the new release. It's with Amazon for verification now - which means that at some point soon (if it doesn't fail certification!) new functionality within the app (rules/routines etc) *should* work as expected.

Re: Controlicz - Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Last week I got Controlicz to work (removed https:// from server name, that was the issue). Discover. All devices were discovered. However, they did not work when I called them via Alexa.
I removed all devices in Alexa. I added some easy-to-call names in the descriptions in Domoticz (Controlicz: Lamp, etc). Tried to re-discover: nothing found.
Removed the descriptions. Discover. Still nothing.
Disabled the skill. Enabled again. Discover. Again, nothing.
What may have gone wrong?

I moved to HomeAssistant. It was fun while it lasted!
