With the Remeha Tzerra and the Kiwi bought OTGW with esp8266 wifi to serial bridge the only value for that works without errors is VR=1. All the other values, especially the higher ones gave me all but error 03's....

Did you use a higher rated transformer and change out the 7805 for the Recom DC/DC converter? If not, that may be the reason. The parts needed, with Conrad.nl part number are:

RECOM R-78E5.0-0.5 DC/DC-converter, print 24 V/DC 5 V/DC 500 mA (part 157954 - 89)
EI 30/15,5 printtransformator VB 2 VA Primair: Secundair: 2 VA VB 2,0/1/15 Block (part number 710564 - 89)

THX... 8-) 8-) ...I was thinking about that already and I read the posts about it. Thought I'd give it a try with the one that came with the package. The transformer is hottish but not bloody hot I would say. I might need to change it to the heavier one and swapping the 7805 to DC/DC converter.
I don't get error messages yet and the connection seems stable. Had 2 drops in 2 days something like that but in the end I probably need to change it anyway :D :D

I have been using the opentherm gateway with usb connection for over a year with absolutely no issues.
Yesterday i wanted to change the USB connection to IP using a ESP8266. Everything went smooth but now i have the same issues that is mentioned by some other members.
I can connect to the esp with OTmonitor and read all data, but when i connect domoticz to the ESP8266 all i get is numbers;
2017-02-19 03:08:09.301 OTGW: BD0012B00

2017-02-19 03:08:09.302 OTGW: T101814A7

2017-02-19 03:08:10.305 OTGW: BC0192780

Anyone found a solution for this?

Yup - you need to reset the OTGW, or issue a PS=1 command to the OTGW. Either short the two RST pins briefly or connect a momentary switch to them. If you have one of the ESP8266 GPIO's connected to the RST and are using ESP-Link, you can also reset remotely using the web front end

Hello,

I trying to get a otgw on domoticz.
I have a otgw and added a ESP-12. The ESP-12 gets power from usb cable, and I connected the tx on rx and vice versa on the otgw.
When I add a OTGW LAN in domoticz, no sensors being added.
In the log files I says it is connected. (ip address + port 80)

I have set the ESP-12 with a ttl cable in STA mode, I can see on my router it has an IP-address,then I did this:

AT+CIPMUX=1
This initiates the server for a Webserver.
Next we start the server at HTTP port 80 using command ,
AT+CIPSERVER=1,80

I dont know exactly what to do now?

I did not do the ESP-LINK thing, is that neccesary? I thought, when the ESP got an IP, it can be connected to the OTGW.
Though when I have the ESP connected to my serial console and do a web request I also see that on the terminal.

I have the opentherm gateway also running with a ESP (ESP-01), but used ESP-link.
In your approach, did you set the esp at the right baudrate ?
Standard nowadays they are at 56700, or 115200, the gateway runs at 9600.

Otherwise.. make your life easy.. and flash ESP-link (works VERY stable :D ), other alternative could be ESP-easy, this one also has now a serial server, in this case you also could add temp sensor for the return pipe in case your CV does support this function in opentherm.

I flashed now ESP link.
Can I connect the ground of the ESP and otgw together?

Uhm.. Reading this not sure how your setup is.
In my case, the power for the ESP is also comming from the OTGW.

So in my case fur sure the grounds have the same level.

Did you use a level converter between the OTGW and ESP ? (since the ESP is 3V3 and the OTGW is 5V) ?

May be share a picture of your setup, this say more then 1000 words :).

And don't forget to set the ESP Link to 9600 baud otherwise it won't work..

The ESP-12 is 5v powered, the board has an 5v to 3.3v onboard converter. So the ground of the external power connect as well to the ESP-12 and otgw.

you got this one :

Image

To get it work grounds should be connected.. BUT... this can be only done with "good" power supply's.
Some cheap Aliexpress once the minus is connect to mains ground... (very dangerous.. !)

It is more safe, to use one power supply to feed the ESP and the OTGW...
If you use a normal power adapter, which you bought in the Netherlands, the risk something goes wrong is very small.

First try it without connecting the thermostat, your CV (boiler) is protected by the PC827 (optocouler).

Tnx. The power supply is an charger for a battery builders lamp, and has an USB output. I'm using the USB output therefore, don't know how to check exactly how the ground is, will take a picture of it when I'm back in house Monday.

till now it works good, connected grounds of otgw serial, ESP and external psu together
Now find a way to build everyhing in one box.
A worker mate has printed some holders for the prints, will show some pics this weekend or monday.

well, due to a power outage, the kettle and otgw shutted down unexpectly.

something is going wrong. First I dont get any data to my sensors in domoticz so after solved the power outage, I deleted the hardware / sensors in domoticz.
Trying to add is again, yes new sensors allowed, but no new sensors created.
I viewed with opentherm monitor and see that under misceleneous that state is unknowd, (monitor or gateway setting)

And this message is coming every time:

after adding new hardware In domoticz I can see

Send the command PS=1 to the otgw, you can do this under the hardware tab of domoticz. If you can't figure out, will send you a screen shot tomorrow.

Ok, somethimes have same issue, if you press the reset uC in the ESP-Link screen (see the yellow picture i send you before) and then try to send to command again, it will work again.

I think i figured out, problem with loose wire tx or ground, bloody Chinese manufacturers :) of gpio wires.
I had the otgw disconnected, checked the wires and put it on, then it would react again on the commands.
Tomorrow I will solder them.

Happy it works again, but quite sure it was not the rootcause.
The "mode" your OTGW was in, is the mode it send message by it self (PS=0), which is used by the OTGW software.
For Domoticz you need the " reqeusted " mode (PS=1).

I have the same issue after power down, reseting the esplink and then type PS=1 does normally the job.
Other options is resetting the OTGW at the pcb it self (jumper).

Anyhow good that it runs again ! :)
