Hello, so for information the project have moved a lot with @FlyingDomotic , he have added so much features and we need some testers before pushing the code on "stable" branch.

For exemple :
- It's now possible to send and receive the config using the onboard Web server, the file will be on JSON format.
- There is no limit for widget page number.
- It's possible to make shortcut from a Widget page to another.
- It's possible to protect some page with code.
- The custom font sytem is easier to use, there is ATM 3 fonts at start, Standard (by defaut), French (for French user), and Custom.
- Lot of bugs corrected.

For information as the procedure is not clear yet.
- On first start, your configuration will be upgraded to the new system, that use JSON.
- It's possible to configure Widget page using the setting menu but easier to use the Json, just donwload it, edit it, and send it again.

For exemple

Code: Select all

  "pages": [
    {
      "name": "Page 1",
      "number": 1,
      "idx": [
        122,
        75,
        16,
        36,
        28,
        -2,
        63,
        90,
        145
      ]
    },
    {
      "name": "Page 2",
      "number": 2,
      "idx": [
        12,
        75,
        16,
        36,
        28,
        -1,
        63,
        0,
        0
      ]
    }
  ]
On this sample, -1 send to widget page n°1 and -2 send to widget page n°2.
So we can consider the "Homepage" (page n°1) have a link to a second page and this one have a shortcut to return to "Homepage".
All negative number will be used as link to widget page.

The code is still on "test" branch.

Ok so no one want to make a try ^^.
Someone is using the text widget on a small device ? on a 2.4'', Do you think it would be useful to remove the name and icon on the widget to only display the description ?
There is too few space, but perhaps someone can use it ?

You now have ESP32-S3 with a 7" color display for 51€ at Amazon. It allows 4 rows of 4 widgets.
I own some of these devices, one displaying 18 pages without trouble.

Yeah but on my side I m using those device on same place than switch and plug, on a 68mm in wall box.
So I prefer use smal one for integration, but It's simply a matter of taste.

Since the last upgrade it no longer connects.
(I had not used the display for a while, so I'm noticing this only now)
In my log I see:

Status: [web:8080] Rejected WebSocket upgrade: Origin 'file://' is not allowed for a trusted-network session

Is there anything in the Domoticz settings to fix this?
Or should this be fixed in the device's code?

I've only just started with this, my ESP32 -S3 7 inch touch arrived this morning. I compiled the latest release (not the test branch) and despite it letting me set it up I obviously got the connection issue so I downloaded the test version and compiled that. Went through the set up and this must connect as I see no errors in the Domoticz log (running the latest beta) but I get nothing on the screen of my touch panel. Am i doing something wrong, should i get the Dashboard contents ?

Thanks

By default, IDX 1 to 12 are displayed on home page. you may want going to setup (slide screen to right and then "settings" to set your IDX.

You may also check sliding screen to left (going to group page) and then still left (to get device lists)

You see nothing ? no message about connexion to domoticz , or calibration screen ?

You have edited the platformio.ini file to match your device ?

On first try, enable the "serial monitor" (it's an icon close the one to compile and upload), you will see error message.
And remember
On domoticz, add the device ip to the "trusted network" (else it will be blocked).

Thanks for the reply's, I have a test system at work so was setting it up on that but then yesterday afternoon got busy so had to do some "actual" work. Anyway when i had the latest stable installed i got the calibration screen and setup etc but since installing the test version from yesterday I have only seen the setup screen once, it seems the touch is not responding as if i power cycle it or press reset it comes up connecting to Domoticz in the middle but pressing the reset button underneath the message i get no response from it. Will investigate further very soon, I have picked the correct panel in the initial build so should be OK.

Unless you erase flash, settings are saved in memory, avoiding restarting initialization process. That's why upgrading is "transparent" and should bring you directly on home page (after showing quickly the network and web connection pages).

Sorted thank you, when I used the stable I did everything correctly but obviously there was the connection issue which is fixed in the test version however when i compiled the test version i forgot to pick the correct panel type :roll:

This morning I upgraded Domoticz to 2026.3. Now the CYD cannot connect to Domoticz any longer,
Domoticz log shows an error: Rejected WebSocket upgrade: Origin 'file://' is not allowed for a trusted-network session

If I remove the trusted network IP the error changes in:
Rejected WebSocket upgrade: Origin 'file://' is not allowed for a cookie-less session

It seems the websocket handling in Domoticz has become a bit more picky.

Edit: I see this is already addressed in the test branch. Problem solved.

Strange...

I'm using layrdy test version of CYD (26.9.19-1) with Domoticz 2026.3, and it works perfectly...

Did you compile with -DOLD_DOMOTICZ? You can check it on tools page.
