Tested it on my ESP32
When i set it up like your settings, then i also have a black image.
These settings work for me.
The quality setting is from the development code, it is not in de master code.
Depends which version you use, it could be that you can't see this line.
esp-settings.JPG
tx! the settings were indeed incorrect. might be wrong default settings in the software.
Because i could not get it to work with doorbell-esp i tried with two other sample projects on github. On both the camera was working perfectly. The i reinstalled esp doorbell on my esp32 to find out it also worked perfect. If i know look at the settings, they are almost identical to yours. If i changed them back to all zero i can reproduce the black screen again.
The only weird thing is that i never set them to all zero's to get into the black state and also never reset them to the working config...
anyway for me it's solved and i know the correct settings if they change to black again.
Tx!

I have been following this project and I bought the ESp-32 cam and a 160 degree NM camera (infra red). I got it all working and the code sents me pictures to telegram. The only thing is that my camera has these lines in the image. Is this something you guys experience? Am I doing something wrong in the setup?

Can you upload a photo? I want to see the quality in dark.

What do you use as power supply?
This can be a cause when seeying lines.

Im currently using or a USB stick(which I used to program the ESP-CAM or a Wemos d1 mini which has a 5v output. I havent tried a direct source of 5V as I currently dont have a 5v converter to test it. Will try and see if I can manage something to directly feed it.
EDIT:
I just did test it with a 5V power supply and it works perfectly now without the lines. Thanks for the tip!

There is a V2 housing for a 160 degree lens.
Tested by Eddy. It is a tight fit.
Eddy tested it and has given me some advice.
But i didn't notice the things on my printer, which Eddy noticed.
Try it and please reply your experiance.

I bought a 3D printer especially for this project

My question to you is, I order a 19mm button by mistake. I dont mind that its a bit smaller and I was wondering if you can edit your model to a 19mm button and 160 degree camera so I can us it for my button and 160 degree camera. I would really really appreciate it.

Works perfect!
Is it possible to add a pir sensor. When detection i can switch on the light.

You asked we run
Just kidding, was already working on that, before you post your question.
Last night i soldered a test version together to test everything.
The code is in de development on github, not full tested (yet), but looks promising.
Also needed to make a new housing, it is 1,5mm taller, otherwise it didn't fit all inside.
Chosen to use a separated pir sensor. And not motion on camera images.
There are 2 reasons. 1 is that we have to deal with the performance of the esp32.
The other one, when doing motion on camera, then you can't do live image. Reason for this is that you have to go to grey-scale, again performance is the reason why to go to grey-scale.
These setup lines are added.
Motion input active: Yes or No
Motion IDX: a separated idx, so you could switch lights or something else
Motion Disable: When people are dansing in front of your sensor, then only 1 command will be send until timeout of timer

The new housing. Not on thingiverse, need to check thinks and need to make a new mounting frame for it, because it is a little bigger.

The sensor i used.
Keep in mind, others may not fit, because it is tight inside the housing.
Default it has a white cover. I would like to have it in black and ordered it online.

On gpio 14 (watch out, it is not next to 13)
Only tested the housing on the 120degree lens configuration.
If it will fit in the 160degree housing. I don't know yet.
The 160degree lens is shorter than the 120degree lens. Could be a problem to fit the pir sensor.

Made a housing for 160degree lens and pir-motion.
I fits, but the pir sensor has to be placed in a specific way, otherwise a capacitor shortcuts on the camera connector.
I have put a small elektra tape between it. It is tight, but possible.
Also got a 160degree 850nm lens last week, just to test what it does in night.
But saw an other problem with the housing. Because of the 160degree lens, the edge of the camera mounting hole is visible on the image.
On the 120degree lens there is a small notch, which is perfect for mounting the camera without falling out of the housing.
The 160degree lens doesn't have that. And to make it works, the 160degree has a raising edge all around the lens.
Does anybody have a good idea, how to mount this 160degree lens, without seeing the housing in the image?

I'm working also on a housing, let see if i can find a solution. I have a 160degree lens, didn't think of the housing and lens conflict.
Off course with the possibility for a PIR sensor.

Nice design.
What are the sizes of your housing.
Are you going to use the default camera?
Problem with those camera's, to keep it waterproof.

Maybe you can add a 15mm grove around the camera hole and then glue something like this into it. This will hold the water out I think adn still lets you mount the camera further.

Size is 84x40x18, i will test it, this week with a 160 degree camera.
Water is no problem, because it is on a dry spot for me. If needed maybe silicone around the camera...

Nice housing.
You glued in the camera?
Do you have a picture from the inside, how everything is positioned?

No glue, just make it in the right dimensions
Did anybody test the difference in camera's ? At his moment a 160 deg.
