Added the option to set timers on setpoint devices in latest beta

Installed the OTGW on my Remeha Calenta with iSense today, and I can read out many values :D. I know it's an known issue that setpoint doesn't work with this thermostat, but is there a workaround for it? Every time I try to change the Room setpoint, it jumps back to the old value within a minute. Also setting it to 0 or 0.0 and then some other value doesn't work. Quite annoying, since that's the whole point of using such GW

iSense doesn't seem to have a version number printed in information, only language version 18-1-2011??

I think you should install the latest beta firmware on it.

I changed my iSense for an Honeywell

The latest stable release 4.0.1 is more recent than the latest beta? Or is there some 'private' beta somewhere? I really like to try that out! Anyway, I already had installed 4.0.1.

Which Honeywell do you have/recommend?

Does it work with the OpenTherm Monitor application ?
I also read that it could take 12 minutes before the setpoint is taken

No, also not with the monitor application. I see about every 30 sec a write-data and ack for room setpoint as set on the iSense. So it looks like that within 30 sec (if not sooner) my set value is overridden.

[edit]
It seems like I've found the solution :D I followed this instruction (Dutch) to activate remote control on the iSense and now it seems to stay at the set setpoint: http://www.homewizard.nl/kb/article/101 ... rmostaten/
I did already look for that 'remote control' function, but hadn't set the thermostat to extended/advanced mode! After that the option for remote control appeared, set it and now it stays this way 8-) It seems like it indeed take some time to get the new value, but that's totally fine with me.
[/edit]

Question: will it be possible to connect (and USE) an opentherm gateway when connected directly to the GPIO headers on a RPi and make that RPi a slave to an existing Domoticz server?
I plan to build my own OTgw, but drop the RS232 chip from the design, put in the wirebridge instead and instead of using a USB->TTL serial converter hook it up directly to some pins of the RPi GPIO.
Anybody that has experience with that?
Thanks in advance!

The iSense needs to have version V19 (V17 doesn't work and V18 probably won't exists) you can find the version number in the iSense menu.
I've bought also a OTGW but as a do it yourself package so i need to solder it together. I've also have e Remeha Calenta with Isense, i will let you know when i have it up and running.

I think a logic level converter should work, will test this soon.

In parallel i already have confirmation RPi can be hooked up directly with the OTGW without the usb serial converter, but not in use with Domoticz. I guess it should not be that hard and if i beat you to it i'll post my findings.

I just completed the build and connection of my OTGW, via network, but I do have some irritating features:
Domoticz hangs after a couple of seconds and can only be woken-up by a reboot via putty.
I have RPI with Razberry and the usual networked Opentherm gateway with network adapter. My cv has a Remeha Avanta with a chronotherm modulation thermostat.

When it runs, I see only stuff like this:
2014-11-28 14:02:40 OTGW: connected to: 192.168.0.11:1001

2014-11-28 14:03:32 OTGW:

Is this some problem with the OTGW?

The diagnostic firmware was still loaded on the controller. After putting the gateway on it, it's beginning to look like something.
I still have a problem which is a bit disturbing. I see this:
2014-11-28 15:20:35 OTGW: connected to: 192.168.0.11:1001
2014-11-28 15:20:36 (OTG1) Temp (Control Setpoint)

2014-11-28 15:20:36 (OTG1) Temp (Room Temperature)
2014-11-28 15:20:36 (OTG1) Temp (Boiler Water Temperature)
2014-11-28 15:20:36 (OTG1) Temp (DHW Temperature)
2014-11-28 15:20:36 (RazBerry) Temp (FGBS1T1)
2014-11-28 15:20:36 (OTG1) Temp (Outside Temperature)
2014-11-28 15:20:36 (OTG1) Temp (Return Water Temperature)
2014-11-28 15:20:36 (OTG1) Thermostat (DHW Setpoint)
2014-11-28 15:20:36 (OTG1) Thermostat (Unknown)
2014-11-28 15:20:37 (RazBerry) Temp (FGBS1T2)
2014-11-28 15:20:52 Error: OTGW: Error: End of file
Furthermore, Domoticz or the webserver is crashing very often.

The activation of the Opentherm Gateway hardware generates a lot of lines in the log. The messages of the other hardware are sort of suppressed.
Especially these lines are no longer visible:
2014-11-28 22:09:46 (RazBerry) Temp (FGBS1T2)
2014-11-28 22:10:01 (Wunderground) Temp + Humidity + Baro (WGTHB)
2014-11-28 22:10:04 (Wunderground) Wind (WGWind)
2014-11-28 22:10:04 (Wunderground) UV (WGUV)
2014-11-28 22:10:05 (Wunderground) Rain (WGRain)
2014-11-28 22:10:05 (Wunderground) General/Visibility (WGVisability)
2014-11-28 22:10:05 (Wunderground) General/Solar Radiation (WGSolar)

Does this imply that the messages are not handled by Domoticz software while Opentherm is activated?
Could this mean that the RPI is a little bit too small for Razberry and Opentherm gateway?

On the screen of my thermostat, I see a numbers of flames to represent the burner intensity.
What OTGW device is representing that?

I have a little problem with the opentherm gateway, I'm not sure if it's a domoticz thing or an opentherm gateway error. The switches Flameon/DHZ on etc aren't active any more, the last seen date is a few weeks ago. The temperature sensors from the OTG are still work so there is a connection. Does someone recognize this problem? I already tried to delete the hardware and adding it again.

I also get this error in the log: 14-11-28 15:20:52 Error: OTGW: Error: End of file, I have this error already from the beginning.

I do not recognize your problem, but I also had the End of file error. That one was gone after I connected the OTGW through USB. I think there is a problem somewhere with the socket connection.

dear friends,
I have OTGW USB version connected to raspberry pi running domoticz and everything works very well.
from time to time I would like to connect to OTGW using otmonitor.exe in windows, but I don't know what to do on raspi side to enable this activity.
can somebody post step-by-step instructions how to set-up ser2lan on raspi running domoticz to have domoticz and otmonitor running in parallel?
many thanks in advance.
kind regards,
vaanja

Below fix has removed the "Error: OTGW: Error: End of file" error message in the Domoticz log, for my WiFi version of OTGW. (USB -> TP-Link WR703N):

Disable the timeout in the ser2net config in the TP-Link OpenWRT firmware.

Login to OpenWrt on the TP-Link, menu 'System' --> 'Startup' .

In the 'Local Startup' textfield at the lower part of this screen:

Change the timeout parameter in the ser2net configuration string (in green / bold) from the current value to zero, save and reboot the TP-Link.

# Put your custom commands here that should be executed once
# the system init finished. By default this file does nothing.
opkg update
opkg install kmod-usb-serial-pl2303
opkg install ser2net
echo "1001:raw:0:/dev/ttyUSB0:9600,NONE,1STOPBIT,8DATABITS" > /etc/ser2net.conf
ser2net
exit 0
