Thanks, the log helps a lot.

First a quick note, yes the log is in Domoticz, Setup menu then Log. In the log search box you can type "MelCloud" to keep only the plugin lines.

About the counter being in heartbeats rather than seconds, it's not a bug, it's just the cloud counter shown in 10-second beats. If your interval is 5 min, that's 30 heartbeats, so it is respected.

Your log does show the real issue though, both your units are polled by the cloud, which means local control isn't active on your side. And it's precisely local control that makes changes done on the remote show up instantly. Without it, only the cloud is left, which is slow.

To see why local doesn't start, no need to restart all of Domoticz, just edit the plugin hardware and save the configuration, that restarts the plugin on its own. Then look at the first lines in the log (filter "MelCloud"). You should get something like this:

The line that matters is "Local: activé". If you see it, local did start and the problem is network discovery, we'll look at that. But if instead you see "Local: lib pymitsubishi inutilisable" or "Local: désactivé", it means the pycryptodome dependency isn't installed in Domoticz's python.

In that case, re-run the install:

(and on Docker it's the docker exec to the container's python, like in the README), then save the plugin config again.

That's normal on a recent Raspberry Pi, Debian no longer lets you install python packages with pip directly.

The cleanest way, install the packages through apt:

sudo apt install python3-pycryptodome python3-requests

pycryptodome is the one that matters, requests is probably already there.

Then edit the plugin hardware and save it again to restart it, and check whether the log shows "Local: activé" this time.

If you'd rather stick with pip, the other option is to add the flag the message suggests:

sudo pip3 install -r plugins/domoticz-python-melcloud/requirements.txt --break-system-packages

but on a Raspberry Pi the apt way is cleaner.

To check that pycryptodome is visible to python, you can run:

Thanks a lot, the diagnosis is exactly right. The Debian package ships pycryptodome under the name Cryptodome and not Crypto, and the lib expected Crypto, so local control was disabled without saying so.

Good news, I've just fixed it (version 2.1.2). I took a slightly different approach from the one suggested, instead of replacing the imports with Cryptodome in the lib (which would break the other way around, the pip installs that provide Crypto), the plugin sets up a Cryptodome-to-Crypto bridge before loading the lib. That way both work, pip and apt, and I don't have to modify the vendored lib.

So you don't need to reinstall anything. Just do:

in the plugin folder, then edit the plugin hardware and save it to restart it. Your apt-installed pycryptodome is now enough.

Check the log, you should finally see "Local: activé". Let me know how it goes, and whether local control finds your units on your network.

Actually good news, it worked: the line "Local: activé" means local control did start (it's French, you were probably looking for "active"). The pycryptodome problem is solved.

What's left is to see whether the plugin finds your units on your network. That happens right after startup, not in the lines you pasted. Let it run for a minute after the plugin starts, then look a bit further down in the log for lines starting with "Local:". You should see either:

• "Local: clim ... trouvée en ..." if all is well
• "Local: scan round ..." while it's searching
• or "... injoignable en local" / "isolé ?" if the plugin can't reach your units

Copy me those lines. And a question, are your AC units on the same network as your Raspberry Pi, or on a separate network/VLAN (for example a guest or IoT network)? If they're isolated, the plugin can't reach them locally.

For the most detail, you can also set the plugin's Debug parameter to a verbose level before restarting.

It works! Your debug log shows exactly what's needed:

Both your units are being controlled locally, with real power in watts. You didn't see anything before because those lines only show up in Debug mode, but local control was already running.

To confirm the last point you were missing at the start, change something on the remote (on/off, temperature) and wait for the local poll interval. You can even set it to 10s to make it more responsive, I'm on 10s myself and it works very well. The device in Domoticz should then update on its own.

Once you've checked, set the Debug parameter back to none, otherwise the log quickly gets buried in details.

Thanks, the one in Schlafzimmer seems to work now vice versa. The one in Wohnzimmer doesn't work correct. When I start it with the remote and cool, I get auto in domoticz. When I stop it in domoticz nothing happens. I can't change it in domoticz. I'll have to look on it.
I think I'll delete all the devices for this climate and let it become new found.

Nice catch, you hit a real bug: when you delete the devices of one unit while keeping another one's, the plugin didn't recreate them and crashed (the KeyError you see). I've just fixed it, it now recreates the missing devices on its own.

Do a git pull in the plugin folder, then edit the plugin hardware and save it to restart it. The Wohnzimmer devices should be recreated automatically and the crash should be gone.

For the mode issue (cool showing as auto), I'll send you a small diagnostic script by private message, so we can see exactly what your Wohnzimmer reports.

Just checking in: did deleting and recreating the devices also fix the Wohnzimmer? Specifically, when you set it to cool with the remote, does it now show as cool in Domoticz (no longer auto), and can you control it from Domoticz (on/off)?

If it's all good, great. If cool still shows as auto, let me know and we'll look into it with the little script I sent you.
