even the cheapest SSD will serve you longer and better than any SD card.
And you have a backup image anyway.

This is not entirely true. Both ssd and sd have different degrees of wear and wear leveling. There are ssd's that suffer badly from wear and there are high endurance sd cards that are as reliable as higher end ssd's.

Lol, every time I see user with SSD or SD, but no one use eMMC ?
I want to make a try on my side, but I have no return about this solution.

What is the advantage of an eMMC vs a SSD on a RPi

I agree, had some problems with SD cards in the past, not much, but they generally don't like a lot of writing actions.
So last time I went for a Western Digital Purple SD card, and is running for a while now without any problems.
Perhaps just luck or a coincidence, but my experience tells me that a SD card is not just a SD Card, there are differences(beside the price-tag  )

I use this one: https://www.amazon.de/SanDisk-Industria ... 770&sr=8-1
It is in one of my Raspberry's for more then 3 years 24x7x365, never went down and without any error.

It use the SD port instead of the USB
Less power use.
Less interferences on zigbee gateway (big problem on pi4 + SSD with zigbee gateway).
Smaller, the systeme is more compact. Strange to use a Raspberry 0 for domoticz with a SSD.

Not true, most RPi's and small SSD's run fine without external power supply and are very fast and reliable.

And other USB devices? I have two more, the zigbee stick and a RFlink.

Do not over engineer!
See what power is needed for an SSD, just to get an idea: https://www.anandtech.com/show/8747/sam ... -review/10
You will have to set "max_usb_current=1" in the config.txt to be able to power an USB SSD drive properly.
For an Raspberry Pi 4B you will have to buy a 3 Amps charger because the Raspberry Pi 4B can consume 6 Watts.
Use the official Raspberry power supply for the Pi 4 of course. No need for exotic expensive ones.

In case you did not know the official Raspberry Pi USB-C charger is 3A, and they all come from China.

For my understanding. The SD port needs a micro SD-Card shape connector or an eMMC in a micro SD-card shape. Is there another way?

Search the Internet for "industrial grade MicroSD cards".

And it works fine with a Raspnberry Pi 4 with SSD and some USB devices.

Besides the Domoticz system I have an OpenVaultMedia NAS with a 2TB WD SSD and the Raspberry Pi powersupply, no problems at all (I check the logs, no underpower logs). So stop making unvalidated statements.

So what is not coming from China nowadays? Enough said.

There is some eMMC natively with SD connexion like this one https://www.gotronic.fr/art-module-rasp ... -33116.htm

OK thanks, I will have a look at it.

I blew up several USB3 ports on RPi and other computers with a cheap adapter cable.
(Blew up = the USB3 port stopped ultraspeed and only functioned in highspeed (USB2) mode)

YMMV.
