You are probably right, the strange thing is that it used to work (and it works for others - see the thread I mentioned above).

What I read in this thread is that it worked in a previous version of unifil under stretch. The move from previous stable or beta to latest stable did not change anything in the dzVents openURL behavior.

Maybe some other changes on your environment either on the unifil or OS side of the domoticz system caused the method you use not to function any longer ?
Did you got an answer on your questions in the other thread ?

My understanding is that is works for other users (using buster) so I guess I managed to change something in my environment but I can’t figure out what and when....The systems can reach each other, ping is working and I can login using the API.

I have already spent quite a lot of hours on this so I guess I have to give up but it hurt my self-confidence
