I don't think the problem is from your Xiaomi devices, I have already see this issue, but it's realy rare.
Some thing you can try:
- Press the button for more than 10s
- Don't open more than 1 tab with phoson

For me your problem can come from
- A communication problem, (you are using rapsbee ?) Don't use metal case, try to disable wifi and bluetooth from raspberry to test.
- A configuration problem, on phoscon you have the last deconz version and last firmware version too ? Nothing strange on config page, something like that (this screenshot is not up to date)

If you havent device at all, you can try to reset the gateway.
- An hardware problem on your raspbee. You haven't another devices to try ?

Even in deconz with the graphical UI, you can see only the raspbee ? no more nodes ?

All of what you have mentioned is fine as you can see from the first pic, running deconz on the Pi I just see one node which is the Raspbee, doesn't matter how long i hold the reset for nothing shows up, if i hold it for more than 10 sec after the first 3 flashes when i release it there is no more but if I release after three flashes there are another 2 with the second being slightly longer than the first.

(You can disable LQI, the button on toolbar)
On the "CRE" button (on toolbar too), you have the both options checked ?

You can try to force the 2.05.66 version, but I don't see how she can solve the problem.

The 3 + 2 blinking are same than normal blinking for pairing, you haven't another zigbee gateway in permit join somewhere ?

You press the button when "The search for new sensors is active for 3 minutes." is displayed ?
I realy don't have idea, all seem fine. Perhaps with enabling log, but if you have nothing visible in deconz, and no error message, I don't know what you can find usefull in log ...

LQI now disabled, yes on cree both are ticked, no other zigbee gateway here anywhere.
Yes new sensor search is active for 3 minutes when selected.
The only thing I can think of is to try a different zigbee based device but i'm reluctant to spend anymore money, actually I've just thought, I have Hive Active heating here at home and I think that is zigbee based but there is nothing at work and it didn't work there either.
Should the deconz app be able to see any other devices even if it can't pair with them?

Ikea light cost less than 10 euro here, but I can understand.
Honestly, I don't think log will be usefull for you as you don't have reaction at all, there is perhaps pairing error, but I have never tried deconz loging. And no, if a device is not in the network, it's invisible for the coordinator in it, it' s possible whith a sniffer device.
A last thing I can do is checking your configuration (F9 key on deconz) to check your channel for exemple ,I have channel 11 here (you can hide your key if you want).
Have you a gihub account ? To make an issue on their github to have more information, I can do it for you, but if they purpose a replacement ...

Whith how many door sensor have you make the try ?

I can probably grab an Ikea light the weekend, don't have any more time tonight now but thank you so much for all your help.
Yes mine is ch11 too, I've tried 2 door sensors but get exactly the same result with both, I do have another 4 so maybe try another tomorrow.
No i don't have a github account, i you remember I have 2 Raspbee's, one is in my domoticz Pi at work so everthing on the same hardware and the other is in the standalone gateway I built with dresdens image both with the same result - very strange, I do think an ikea light is probably the next step
Thanks Again

Bit of an update although it doesn't resolve my issue, I have a CC2531 usb dongle so flashed it with ZBOSS sniffer firmware for zigbee devices, installed the software along with wireshark and had a look what was going on, so the result is no matter how you press the button on the door sensor (times or duration) the code sent is the same, it just sends a broacast request (see pic) and if in deconz I use the signal monitor option and tell it to send continous packets I see nothing at all in the sniffing software, however as the only node deconz can see is its self I'm unsure if its actually transmitting depite the green led on the raspbee flashing rapidly so despite this its still back to ikea for a lamp !!

Ha nice, you have a zigbee sniffer, realy usefull !
I m making a github issue, not sure I will have answer, but for me your bug is critic enought to find motived users.

For me your sensor are good, not possible having 4 broken one, but I realy don't have idea to explain what isn't working.

BTW have you tried to enable permit join with deconz instead of phoscon, it will not work, but perhaps the node will be added.

Yes, I tried the permit join option but no change, I'm getting to the point now where I need to leave it alone for a few days as frustration usually results in something getting broken !!!

Lol, I can understand too, I have spend more than 2 months (with random tries) to add a device to my zigbee network, I had this device for free, but was forced to buy another gateway to use it and his price was 3 * the device price ^^.

I will tell you if I have new things to try from deconz github. But if in some days, it s still not working, will be good to make a claim.

Ok, so no more news from deconz community yet, I think you are good to contact directly the support but I have a new pairing method from someone whith same problems than you (but with a conbee).
- Press the pairing button during 5-10s up to the 3 blink + 2 blink
- Press the pairing button brievely, every 1 s during some seconds.

And ofc try this method as close you can from the gateway.

Sorry for not responding last night I decided to give it a break, anyway I've just tried your new pairing method but sadly no change. I was pairing via the phoscon app but also looking at deCONZ at the same time and nothing showed in either of them. I will get a lamp from Ikea tomorrow to see what happens with that. I can sort of understand if I only had one raspbee and I'd not configured something properly but the second Pi I have is running the image from dresden so all should be correct and to have neither of them work really is very strange and disappointing. The only reason I explored the zigbee option was because I have some door sensors that are 433mhz which work fine but because I also have alot of 433mhz temp sensors as well and occasionally there are data collisions due to the update frequency, not an issue for temp monitoring as if you miss one or two readings it doesn't really matter but if you get a collision just as you shut / open a door or window the status then stays wrong till you open / close again which is a real pain as part of my system alerts you to any open doors / windows everytime it see's the front door open so hopefully we won't go out with the house insecure.

Yep zigbee have a "return state" and "check state periodically" as usefull feature.
For your situation, don't worry, you have a warranty period of 24 months, and your Xiaomi devices are on the official supported devices list, so it will work, but I realy can't understand why you have so much problems.
Your configuration is like this one (I have channel 11 on my side)?
Image
You have disabled LQI ?

You can try with logs enabled, if you have time, but I have never used this feature.

Code: Select all

$ deCONZ --http-port=80 --dbg-info=1 --dbg-aps=2 --dbg-zcl=1
Your cpu usage is under 15 % ?

Have you tried to force the 2.05.66 version ?
