I cannot even add the smoke detector to Domoticz. In Mi Home i added the device (Mijia Honeywell Fire Alarm Detector - https://www.gearbest.com/alarm-systems/ ... d=13027332) and enabled "Accept new Hardware devices" in Domo (V4.10717) but no luck.

Your xiaomi gateway is connected to domoticz?
Thin-client --> Docker Domoticz main environment
Pi3A+ --> Google home (GAssistPi)
Pi3B+ --> Docker (P1monitor, Domoticz test environment, Ubiquity controller)

Yes it's connected but ... Just checked the devices panel now and the smoke detector is there, seems it just needed some time (lots of). Thank You for the reply.

I have the same issue as described intially by hoeby.
I attached my gateway to Domoticz succesfully. Also added a door sensor and two smoke detectors.
Door sensor is updating the status (open/closed) and interactions are seen in the log file of domoticz

The smoke detectors also appear in the devices list (incl battery status) of domoticz, but if I press the test button on the smoke detector i do get a "all connections are OK" in Chinese from my gateway, but nothing happens in Domoticz. The switch is not changed, but also the log file show not interaction. Really nothing happens, no matter how often I press the test button. Tried several options (things I have read from this forum), but nothing seems to work. Again I have read this forum and noticed the dummy switch option but the challange is that I do NOT get any info in the logfile. Hence no communication from the smoke detector towards domoticz. The device can be tested (detection) using the Mi home app.
Getting desperate...does anyone has a suggestion?

For those who found the same issue...I got it!
A simple click on the smoke detector tests the communication between the detector and the gateway (receiving a Chinese voice from the gateway)
A long click, wil simulate a smoke alarm (the test I was looking for). This test is communicated to Domoticz and hence from there on you can start programming or trigger switches and so on. As I didn't found this solution anywhere I share my findings here for the benefit of others who struggle with the same.

Great you found out it is working.

Something related but different: I would like to be able to link my Xiaomi Aqara Smoke detectors to each other. If one gives alarm, the other should give too. Is this possible with Domoticz? Right now I cannot make an alarm from Domoticz (there only seems one-way communication). I prefer not to use a gateway (do not want to enter the cloud). I use Zigate.
Domoticz beta, on Raspberry Pi 3B, Raspian Buster
Zwave, Zigate, RFlink etc.
