I disabled both ABP and uBlock, still don't get a way to accept the policy. But pretty easy to just right click and select to open link in a new tab, but annoying that no one of the admins bother to answer or fix this.
But as you also notice, not that much help you can get from this forum. A problem like this should have been answered and solved by the forum admins a long time ago, and still not a reply in a month.

Still a problem: if I try to click on any link - including Board index or Login - on this page: http://domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=6772 I get this:

Code: Select all

You cannot access links on this board until you have accepted the Cookie Policy.

found out het problem: disable the extention "I don't care about cookies" if you have that, disable all adblockers. AND: go to https://www.domoticz.com/forum/ (the index page).

Problem is: no one with the problem will be able to get to this solution, because it is on page 2 of this forum. And they are not able to get here :-)

You just need to remove everything that's behind forum/ in the address bar of your browser.

The problem is that the cookieAcceptBox not appears. I managed it with the inspect to make it visible and got to accept the cookie policy.

This was really annoying and your solution helped. Thanks!

Sorry this a bad policy and a very unfriendly way to treat contributers and interested readers. I am sure there are nicer and friendlier methods out there, now if only someone with powers would care enough to actually change that.

Your cookie policy “accept” button - is only visible on the forum index on mobile devices.

So if you find a page that isn’t the index - you can’t click any links to navigate anywhere - without a pop up saying “accept the cookie policy”. Which you cannot do.

So, then you are telling people to allow cookies by default?
One: I don't use Chrome
Two: I don't think it is wise to advise people to enable cookies by default.
Third: You are pushing the "fix" for this to the end user, whereas the fix should be done on the forum software.

Agreed, the cookie notification in most cases doesn't really add value, but this is what it is

A cookie policy is a declaration to your users on what cookies are active on your website, what user data they track, for what purpose, and where in the world this data is sent......
It's always good to hear, "buy one and get one free". But with Seers Cookie Consent you can get many more. I will gladly suggest Seers for its tools to generate a complaint Cookie Policy. Do check out its Cookie Consent Banner; it indicates the level of concern Seers possess for its customer's data.
