Re: Introduce yourself
[Name:] Simon
[Country:] UK
[City:] Middlesbrough
[Occupation:] Research Scientist
[Hobbies:] Walking, running, early adopting, adapting
[Why I Chose Domoticz:] Looking for a simple system which could integrate a number of technologies together, was open source and able to be extended. Having started using Domoticz a few months ago, and thought I would be able to do some of the things I want to, the rate of development is such that I now think I will be able to do everthying and a lot more, thanks.
[My role here:] Not quite sure, but keen to get all my bits of technology to work with Domoticz either myself in which case I will share my experiences or by suggesting that others have a go.
[My equipment:] Raspberry Pi's, RFXCOM 433, LightwaveRF Hub, house of Lightwave RF switches / sockets / relays, Velux io-Homecontrol (think I will have to connect an io-Homecontrol controller to a Raspberry Pi to control these, as I believe the protocol is not accessible to RFXCOM - I'll let you know if / when I do), Owl Energy meter (monitoring solar, geothermal and household electrics), LaCrosse temperature sensors, Weather Underground and looking for a weather system to add in.

I have a lot of Kaku for many years, the last years i have tried a few domotica solutions none does have all the things i needed.
I wanted to change to zipato, but the last weeks it seems to be a mess @zipato, and second i do not like the cloud solution for my domotica.
So i will move to domoticz, first on my low power XP pc to learn, after this is will delete my Pi setup and domoticz move/install to the Pi.
