I guess it would be possible if you would mount your sensor so that the magnet passes each time you open AND close your door. Then it should be possible to toggle the status of the door on each pulse with a script. Should work fine as long as each pulse is detected.

Edit: I made a simple blockly that toggles a dummy doorsensor. My actual doorsensor is a push on button with an off delay of 1 sec in domoticz. Works pretty good so far

I 'm using this PIR sensor for a while now. Although it works perfect with Domoticz the battery drain is like crazy. Every 2 months I have to replace the 9Volt battery. I was wondering if there is a way to replace the battery with a power adapter or something to avoid battery drain. Any tips appreciated!

I have exactly the same PIR and the battery usage is indeed quite high. I also have a PIR from HomeEasy, which I like better. It has a automatic coding system, better than fiddling with jumpers on the chinese ones. And you can set the light intensity and turnoff time. Got them at pollin.de

You can indeed hook up a power adapter to them. Just look for a 9v adapter

What model of HomeEasy PIR did you buy at pollin.de and how long does it take to ship to Netherlands?

I also have found this connector. I assume this will work with a 9volt adapter.

I have a HE403EU and it ships quite fast (live in NL myself as well). I think it was a couple of days. Yes, that connector should work. Please note the polarisation of the adapter plug. For most the outside is ground and inside the plug load, some have it the other way around and some are switchable.

Pros:

Low cost (for me 4,49 euros)

Cons:

Sends only ON status when the magnet is taken away. Sends nothing when the magnet is brought back. I need to use 10 sec OFF delay to switch it off.
Uses a 'non standard' battery (23A 12V). One spare battery costs 2 euros at the local store!
Doesn't have any jumper switches
Delivery to Finland took 18 days

If I buy another one, does anyone know if they interfere with each other or do they get unique IDs? (and yes, I'm a newbie and this is my first post.)

UPDATE 9th December 2015: I've ordered a second sensor. It works perfectly and was delivered in 23 days.

UPDATE 29th August 2016: The battery lasted nine (9) months in the unit mounted on the front door.

First I want to thank Raspberry Piet for the great idea. Pictures helped me to make my own.
I ordered 3 of those cheap door sensors and all work fine at different ID's.
But I do see a strange thing. Every time there is new mail I can see in devices there is a new device made.

But since installing it I get a lot of new devices every day some more. The only thing I can think of is that the sensor is creating them.
Anyone know what to do about this?

I have a couple of KAKU switches i use. Read somewere that ARC en Lighting4 don't work together. But everything does work. On the settings page of the RFXtrx433E
Lighting4 is ticked and ARC not.

Does anyone have experience with using the sensor outside?

I want to use It outside, The place I want to use it is always dry (protected from rain anyway).
I'm thinking of wrapping it in plastic foil to protect it.
The thing is, I bought a KAKU pir but it's range is not that good. The cheap sensor works fine.

Shouldn't be a problem.

I have a IP-camera that is meant for inside, running outside for over 2 years now. It hangs under a carport, so it is shielded from rain. It survived the Dutch 'cold' winters without a problem.

Increasing the range of 433Mhz is quite easy actually, just remove the existing antenna and solder a wire of 17cm length to the original soldering point. The 17cm is the ideal length for 433Mhz.

Thanks good Idea by the way. Couple of weeks ago I ordered a IP dome cam outdoor.
After receiving and testing it I found out that I made a mistake and ordered a indoor version.
I want to place it under my carport as well. Will give it a try.

Hi there,

I also ordered some OUDI AD-87. But, till now I can't get them connected to Domoticz. I use a rfxcom433e with 250 (=latest) firmware.

@Jarvis: Can you explain how you got these door sensor added to Domoticz?

keep you all informed if I solved this.
