Are you running the latest beta version of Domoticz?

I am still happy with my P1 cable. No issue in case Toon is out...

But, how to connect. My smart meter (with P1 port) is on first floor, but the Synology in the attic. So a looong cable would be needed. Besides, it doesn't have a port to connect the RJ11 (I believe) connector.

Hmmm... ok... Yes, it is a modular phone cable that you need (be aware, a phone cable with two cables/one pair is not sufficient!). I don't think it is an issue if that cable is pretty long.
The Synology will most likely have a USB connector. So, that is where you can connect a cable like the one that can be found here: http://www.smartmeterdashboard.nl/webshop The guy who runs that website is a very open and honest guy and if you send him an E-mail, he will think along with you!

Unfortunately after the migration of the service center to the cloud, my Domoticz and Toon connection still isn't working. Getting this error: Error: ToonThermostat: retrieveToonState request not successful, restarting..!

I'm on the beta version of Domoticz (3.6938) and Toon 3.7.9. But I got an answer from Eneco which is saying that toonopafstand.eneco.nl isn't migrated to the cloud and not supported anymore.

I thought Domoticz is scraping the data from that website isn't it? This should mean that the Toon connection by toonopafstand is down permanently now.

@Gitmocus is there any solution on connecting to the API of Toon yet? And is there anything we could do to make it happen? At the moment I'm thinking of getting the Toon Hacked to make it working again, but that isn't what I would prefer to do.

Great.... Eneco has pulled eneco.nl/toonopafstand actively. Nice going, guys!

Let's see what Brandje has to say on that...

Hi Plantje, I saw you also responded on the Eneco forum. It is a real shame that Eneco let's you pay extra each month to use Toon but won't give the right support needed to let us fully use the possibilities of Toon.

Maybe Brandje, as a field-tester, could put some oil on the fire ;-)

Just noticed it myself :( I hope they bring it back soon, because it working with Domoticz was one of my reasons to go with Eneco. Didn't even have a warning that they would pull it down.

Time for a poll there ;)

EdKo66 unfortunately they explicitly say they will not bring it back online. Perhaps they would push developers to use the API, but I really don't know the last status of the development of the API.

I don't have much confidence in Brandje.

The only thing he can always say is:"Windows is rubbish, Eneco supports the leading OS'es" and "Plug the plug of your router/modem to get Toon working again" I would say: Eneco, fix that sh%^^t if it is really needed to reset MY PERSONAL network in order to get one client working.

Anyway...doesn't really help us. Let's hope for the API and in the mean time work with a direct P1 cable. But as I understood for Ed that is pretty hard.

just read it :(Stupid decission. Glad to have an Android phone to remotely work with Toon, but so long as the API is not really stable they shouldn't have killed it.

@plantje.Yup for me it's not really an option to get another long cable through the house.

@Plantje, You were right about Brandje. I'm very annoyed by most of his answers because of the general though by him "Eneco is great and the problem is mostly at client side". Sometimes it just seems to be about he has to answer instead of giving a answer with added value.

On topic: Question still exists, what is needed to get Domoticz use the Toon API on the correct way?

Whats part of the toon connection is using the /toonopafstand? Because at the moment the error log show's there is no connection but I can still set the temperature with domoticz.

Blueone, really, I don't know. Perhaps Gizmocus knows. The problem is that I have deleted the Toon in my hardware overview and tried to reconnect it, but that won't work. I can add it as a hardware part, but no devices will show up.

Ok, so don't delete it for the time being... Can't you put back a backup, SteGe?

I think using the API is the only way forward.

Nope Plantje, I wouldn't do that if I was you. And unfortunately I don't have a backup from so long ago. Did it some time ago (perhaps when the service center was down or something).

I agree on your opinion about the API is the only way forward. But I don't know if this will happen by the Domoticz devteam

And again it's dead :(

Really hope that Domoticz will start using the API soon, because this is a real pain in the behind.

I did consider 'hacking' my Toon as an alternative as this would allow me to continue to use Toon without having to rely on Eneco and their terrible service. In the end, I had had enough with Eneco's attitude towards its customers and the reliability of Toon and the Service Centre. Bit the bullet and signed up for a Tado thermostat instead. It doesn't give me a lot of the info that Toon does (gas, electric usage), but i have a P1 cable connected for this. I really don't care about the weather, traffic or ability to control light switches from a very slow and unreliable Toon. In addition, I have now relocated a wireless Tado thermostat (no new wiring needed) to a more suitable 'reference room' which gives me improved heating control. At the same time I changed supplier from Eneco and save over €250/annum on my bills on the reduced tariff alone. The official API from Tado is also not available, but documented well enough to be able to get what I need. I took the 'rental option' with a 12-month money back guarantee - better than Eneco's non existent offer

RJBlake, what was it that you decided not to hack you Toon but buy a whole other thermostat instead?

SteGe - I would say probably the fact that I would still be limited to having the Toon hard wired back to my boiler/CV. Currently the wiring for this ends up on my ground floor which has underfloor heating. Because of this, there was an imbalance on heating demand once it reached its setpoint (slower to get there, but retains heat better). What I was really after was a thermostat that does its job as a thermostat (i.e. good control of heating for comfort and also balancing of gas usage). I get lots of information directly from my boiler, get usage from the P1 cable and certainly have no interest in using Toon for traffic, weather, comparing statistics with others, etc. The reason I went for the Tado is that they, as a company, have been quite innovative and have promised a public release of their API (although have still not delivered this, much like Toon). Also, if i want to, I can add zone control and additional thermostat devices (although with Domoticz, some scripts and actuators I've achieved a good solution with little cost and effort that works in my setup). Their own app has geofencing built in so hoping to use this for other purposes at a later stage too. I'm not going to go so far as to say that Tado is perfect in any way, but it fits my needs perfectly. I think Eneco & Toon missed an opportunity here to do so much more with regards to heating/energy control, but chose not to. As far as costs go, my monthly subscription costs are slightly higher, but stress & annoyance levels are way down.
