How can I switch from the beta to the stable version without losing data/configuration?

Thank you!
You can "downgrade" Take backup of database and script (if you have any) and remove the domoticz package.
Then you can reinstall stable version and add your database again.

Make sure to make a backup first

Thank you, Edwin!

How can I 'add my database' to the new installation? By restoring the backup or is the database kept on the Synology after you deinstall Domoticz?

Thank you!

Do a restore, because if you remove the package, everything is deleted. Also, make sure you backup scripts you might have.

Thank you Edwin for your answer.

I'm sorry, I don't quite know how to perform a restore. You mean like this?

Thank you!

Kind regards.

No..

Setup / settings / tab 'backup/restore'

There click on 'restore' and select the file you created earlier. You DID make a backup before, right?

Hi Jadahl,

Thanks again for making these packages available. I'm actually quite happy with only keeping stable versions of Domoticz :).

I was wondering, if I look at the 6.1 stable repository:
http://www.jadahl.com/domoticz_stable_6.1/
The page shows that I should not add the URL to my DSM Package Manager. Is that a mistake? I would expect this stable package URL would be a good thing to keep in Package Manager for getting upgrades when a new stable package is created by you?

Cheers,
Jorik

@Jorik
This is only to limit the traffic on my server.
I would change this only for manual download afterwards, as with the beta versions (http://www.jadahl.com/domoticz_beta_6.1/)
Advertising of stable versions can also be seen here on the forum or on my website.

Hi Jadahl,

I'm a happy user of your package and I understand your choice to only support stable releases for the future.
Thanks for your work!

Now I'm upgrading from my synology DS214+ with still a beta version 3.8440 to a new DS1817+.
I see on your website that the latest version is "Domoticz Stable V3.8153 for DSM 6.1"
However with using "http://www.jadahl.com/domoticz_stable/" as package source I can only install V3.5877.

Manual installation of the package directly downloaded from your website gives me "unsupported package for this DSM version"
I tried package 'domoticz_denverton-6.1_3.0.8153-7.spk' and 'domoticz_denverton-6.1_3.0.8552-7.spk.
On my synology I use DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 8

Do you have an idea what could be the issue?

Thanks in advance,
Frank

Thank you very much,
the manual upload of the avoton package works.
I also see you updated the link on your website for the ds1817+

Thanks Edwin, now I understand :) I didn't delete the old version yet, will do so this weekend.
Also, aren't scripts kept in the database then? Since you specifically mention to also backup the scripts separately?

Thanks!!

if you did not create any scripts(normal scripts lua scripts, blocky's) there is nothing to backup or restore.

blocky's however are not backupped as far as i know so if you created blocky scripts please take a photo before uninstall and restore

scripts are in the usr/local/domoticz/var/scripts directory

@Jumbotroll,

is the 6.1 8153 stable version on your site for apollolake the one WITHOUT Python.

The reason i am asking is the 8153 build is 16.990KB
all the later beta builds are smaller approx 14.530KB

i am experiencing crashes which occur after a long time.

the effect is always the same. the zwave usb stick looses al of it's devices. when you select setup all the devices are gone.

disabling and reenabling the zwave usb stick makes them appear again.
it looks like an USB disruption.

maybe a python build has something to do with this.

otherwise, is it smart to reinstall the usb drivers seperately. if so where can i find them?

domoticz_apollolake-6.1_3.0.8153-7.spk without python plugin.

I don't know why you have the USB problem, but I don't think this is a driver problem.
All my packages is included USB drivers and is not a option to install usb drivers seperately.
