I have bought 3 Fibaro FGD211 Universal Dimmer switches and one fibaro FGS222 relay insert 2 * 1.5 kw (second hand) and i'm having trouble connecting 2 of the 3 FGD211's
First one did not connect, even after a reset (pressing the small recessed button for 3 seconds)
Second one did connect right away after i pressed the recessed button 3 times
Third one did not connect, same as first one
And the FGS222 connected right after i pressed the recessed button 3 times
I've tried the reset numerous times on both the non connecting devices.
Personally i think that they are linked to another z-wave network and the reset does not unlink them somehow.
Is there anything else i can try?
My z-wave controller is a Aeon Labs Z-Stick Gen5 z-wave plus.

Re: Fibaro FGD211 not joining
Hi Goldwing,
I have a couple of Fibaro products and unfortunately it doesn't work always as promised.
The problem you described is known by me and solved in the following way:
Rearrange the placement of the antenna (the metal frame of the outlet can interrupt the radio signal).
Reset by using the power mode: Reset by holding B button for 3 sec. after connecting mains voltage to the Dimmer
include: quick pressing three times the push-button connected to S1 terminal. The push-button is not the B-button!
I had to try to include a couple of times: sometimes the signal of 3 times did not come thru towards the Aeon but then again pressing 4 times will cancel the inclusion process, so keep this in mind.
I hopes it helps!
Cheers,
Will

-- I connected the FDG211 directly to the mains without building them into the wall, so the antenna wires were free, and the distance between the FGD211 and the Aeon lab z-wave stick was about one meter.willie-p wrote:Hi Goldwing,

Tried that, without luck.Reset by using the power mode: Reset by holding B button for 3 sec. after connecting mains voltage to the Dimmer
I did not try that, worth trying.include: quick pressing three times the push-button connected to S1 terminal. The push-button is not the B-button!
Yea, I know, i've tried connecting them at least 25 times already.I had to try to include a couple of times: sometimes the signal of 3 times did not come thru towards the Aeon but then again pressing 4 times will cancel the inclusion process, so keep this in mind.
I'll try the S1 option, I hope it'll work.I hopes it helps!

Re: Fibaro FGD211 not joining
the switch is in include mode the first 30 seconds after power is connected, start the include process first in domoticz and then add power, works almost every time, the module has to be reset first of course

Do you think this will be the same for the FGD-212?leby wrote:the switch is in include mode the first 30 seconds after power is connected, start the include process first in domoticz and then add power, works almost every time, the module has to be reset first of course

Re: Fibaro FGD211 not joining
UPDATE: They live!!!
Somehow the FGD211 would not join my Aeon G5 stick, reset did not reset them.
But, I took them to someone that also had a Razberry (not the z-wave plus version) and he was able to get the working.
This was wat he did.
First the tried also with his Aeon G5, but no luck. Then with his Razberry
Unjoin,
Cut power of the FGD211
Join with Razberry (it worked)
Unjoin
Cut power of the FGD211
Now again with the Aeon, put it in Add Device mode.
Plug in the FGD211, and it was recognized right away, and with the same procedure the other one was joined too.
Somehow these where linked to another z-wave network and were unable to link to a Aeon G5 stick directly.
Bug in the Aeon sticks maybe?

Experienced a similar issue. Solution found is to:
1. Exclude node in Domoticz
2. Plug connected dimmer to power
3. Press B button 3 times within 30 sec after plug in (not more)
4. Unplug timer
5. Include node in Domoticz
6. Plug in power
7. Push B buttom 3 times within 30 sec (not more)
