Nest - HeatingOn switch does not work (Error sending switch command)

Post by Meza »

Hi all,

I'm new to domoticz, and just got it up and running on my RaspberryPi2.

I've added my nest, and am able to get and set the setpoint and Away status without problem.
However, I cannot use the HeatingOn switch to control the heating on or off.

When I click the switch in domoticz an error pops up:
Error sending switch command, check device/hardware !
and the nest and the switch do nothing.

I've tried removing and re-adding the switch in domoticz with no avail.

Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
Meirion

Hi!
I have the same issue and I'm pretty sure this worked before. I hadn't played around with the nest since I haven't turned the heating on for a while.
How did you solve the issue?

isn't it switch that shows 'status'? Is heating ON or OFF?

*update*
see this older topic. It seams to be the same.

No I haven't tried anything since then. Not much interest in the heating system in the summer - no demand!

its a status switch... you can not 'set' it

Hello all,
I tried removing the Nest and Ni joy...

Gizmocuz, I'm pretty sure this worked previously and I'm also sure it works on other applications.

As Meza said, it's still summer, but as winter comes I'll want to enable and disable the heating remotely or through my scripts... Any idea is appreciated!!

Sorry, I think that it's not true, In my case this switch don't reflect the real state of Nest.
