domoticz and zoneminder on pi

Post by daryah »

Hi all

I understand that Domoticz currently does not support ONVIF cameras and I have a couple of these with PTZ capabilities. Not sure if its in the plans, but for now I understand another software Zoneminder is available.

My hope is to have Zoneminder and Domoticz sit alongside each other on my Pi 3 doing their thing. I followed the instructions for installation of Zoneminder and have that starting up, mysql tables working but am having problems starting the Apache Server cause I believe Domoticz is possibly using port 80. I can share the exact log output if useful...

Is there a way to get Apache and Domoticz to sit happily alongside each other?

I did configure the port for Domoticz to 10001 and 443, but I noticed that if I call my Pi on port 80 it gets automatically redirected to https on 443.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I consider myself a low to moderate techie so please be gentle with your advice.

Peace...
Hiro

In short, you can not have two application sharing the same port (443).

Either change the ssl port of domoticz (recommended, will run happily besides apache :) ) to another value like you did with 80 -> 10001
or disable redirecting port 80 to 443 in apache (beyond this forum).

Peace!

btw: zoneminder is on my wish list to try, as is pikrellcam! Motion detection in multiple regions :-)

As far as I can tell from the docs of zoneminder their motion detection is also just based at light change and therefore can cause false alarms. That's the beauty of pikrellcam, they use vectors that need to move before triggering.
