Compatible Smoke detectors

Post by Stijnh »

Hi,

I want to buy smoke detectors for in my house that I can connect with the RFXtrx433 transceiver. I don't want to spend to much money on it, 10 to 20 Euro.

On this forum and other forums I found that the following detectors are compatible "Chacon/Avidsen/NEXA.. KD101". I think this is the chip which is used by the smoke detector but I'm not sure.
I already found that the the Alecto SA-33 is compatible but the reviews aren't that good.

So, can U tell me which smoke detector you are using? Or a webshop where I can buy them? (I'm from Belgium)

Thanks!

Stijn

I read a lot of posts from people from NL who use the Flamingo FA20RF as they are quite cheap (sometimes in discount, 2 pieces for 13 euros or so).
I am not active on this forum anymore.

Seem like the FA20RF aint available in the netherlands anymore or i'm blind and can't find it.
I do have found the Flamingo FA21RF on Conrad.nl, 2 pieces for 35 Euro's.
https://www.conrad.nl/nl/flamingo-10001 ... 74875.html

Seem a fair deal but the question is, are they compatible with the RFXCOM and Domoticz.
Anybody using the Flamingo FA21RF?

I've got two of these linked and working well. I can activate them from Domoticz and have set notifications so I get alerted if they go off.

Running Domoticz on Pi3 with RFXtrx433e. LWRF power sockets and dimmer switches. Integrated my existing wirefree alarm PIRs and door contacts with domoticz. Geofencing with Pilot. Harmony Hub. Tado for Heating. Now playing with mysensors.

Hi all,

I am new to using Domoticz, I only have one device which is a First Alert Combined alarm. I am having issues trying to include it via my Aeon Stick.

I want to eliminate options before I buy more sensors, can anybody tell me if they got this smoke detector working on a Raspberry Pi with the Aeon v2 stick?

Or have got it working at all...

Thanks
(Raspberry Pi B, Aeon Z-Stick)

Today is was a the Multimade (Dutch DIY shop) and saw a unknown brand smokedetector.
But had the looks of a FA20RF.
They weren't that expensive and talk to the shop owner.
If they weren't detected by the RFX then i could return them.
I bought 4 of these for just 30 Euro's :D

Just had a look and as i already thought the RFXtrx433E detected the smokedetector.
And just as i thought as a KD101 smoke detector meaning it's Flamingo/Elro FA20RF only cheaper...
This made my day...

Since there is no official answer given to the question:

yes, the Flamingo FA21RF works perfect! They show up in the devices list and can be triggered from Domoticz.

I'd recommend you Kidde PI2010.
You can find it in Amazon in a very good price. It has very good reviews (prove: http://buildyoursmarthome.co/reviews/be ... -detector/) ;)
And you can put it in every corner you need..

I just wanted to say that I purchased Nexa 101LC smoke detector in Norway
(it looks exactly as this RM-101Lb from the pictures above) and it works great with RFLink
Raspberry Pi 2 B - MySensors (dimmers, switches, motion, temperature, lux, humidity sensors)
zWave (220v switches)

I don't have a good expirience with the fa20rf. Last year, all of the sudden one of them started beeping. He was only 3 or 4 months old.
Because we were not at home the neighbours went to the school of my son, he also could enter the home because the smoke detector blocked the entire 433Mhz range so the gate opener didn't respond. 6 Hours later when I got home they were still beeping, I instantly removed them and throw them all away.
Since that I bought the Fibaro smoke detectors, couldn't be more happy :)

@larsja, I purchased them on Finn.no from someone who har pair, so he sold me one.
I had two missfirings with it thought, once in the middle of the night at 3am, no activity at home, second time when no one was home (it sends me 30 emails when it goes off, and I was a bit freaked out since noone was home, but it was false alarm).
Probably it is too close to the room ventilation, I read that cold air that blows in the house can trigger them, I will have to relocate it
