Aeotec Z-Stick problem

Post by esteen »

I have Domoticz running on Linux Debian and have encountered a problem.

Initially it seems like the stick worked in Domoticz but after that I added my first Z-Wave product to the stick it stopped working and the log in Domoticz says driver failed.

When I took it out of the server the button didn't work either and it stopped responding total.

I made a reset and after that I can pres the button but as soon as I put it back in the server and takes it out again it'seems dead.

Anybody else that have had the same problem?

Regards,
Mats

Assuming the Z-Stick isn't faulty... you normally need to disable OZW (under hardware settings) before removing from your server. Otherwise, you'll run into problems like this.

Ok, is that done by deactivating the Z-Stick or is it something else?

No, that's correct. Go to Setup | Hardware and select your controller. Then disable the "Enabled" check box before unplugging. Re-enable it once you've plugged it back in.

Ok, i have tried that but it didn't work.

I re-insalled debian from scratch and then OZW and Domoticz.
But as soon as start Domoticz i get Driver Failed.
See pictures.

Anybody that have seen the same problem on Debian?

Hello,

I hope i'm not coming in too late ... even if your last post is from a month ago ...

ok i did a fresh install last week with the same device as you the Zstick GEn5 from Aeotec.

First of all read this page :

https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/PersistentUSBDevices

then focus here :

Code: Select all

AeoTec Z-Stick

Gen5: SUBSYSTEM=="tty", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0658", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0200", SYMLINK+="ttyUSB-ZStick-5G"

ok read carefully everything and now check your 2nd screenshot your Zwave is set on port /dev/ttyACM0 which is wrong from my experiences.

when i did the reinstall i did it like i did fo rmy zwave.me GPIO card ... i was wrong the corect way is in the Wiki page i sent you and like this it will work. no more driver error after i followed the wiki page.

Hope it will help you.

Cheers,
Flo
