send signal to doorbell

Post by curious »

With the last update of the firmware I receive a message when my doorbell is pressed.
Is it possible to send a signal to the doorbell so it rings (would like to use it when my webcam detects movement and nobody is at home )

It depends on which doorbell type I suppose. I have 4 lwrf/Siemens mp3 doorbells and any of their 10 chimes can be triggered by a simple blockly event. It would be handy for people who lurk about without pressing the bell when you ARE at home too :)

Hi Blackdog65 and fellow StellaZ user,
Which doorbell model lets you choose the chime, and how?
Sorry for topic drift...
Zwave - Sigma Z+ stick, Fibaro, Horstmann, Neo Coolcam, EUROtronic
RFlink - IR detectors and temperatures
Wifi - YeeLights, ESP32s, Anoop sockets
Zigbee - lots with zigbee2mqtt and ZbBridge

Hiya Westcott,

Ist off, EX StellaZ user  I need to update my profle  I use ELV Max! EQ-3 stats and trvs now, much better and cheaper. I haven’t had to throw one at the wall yet either

I digress
I use these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351406058850? ... EBIDX%3AIT which LWRF rebadge and knock out for £35

When you set them up i.e. pair button to chime, It appears in Domoticz as a ByronSX chime with an id xxxx unit 1. If you press the pairing button again, you get another ByronSX chime with an id xxxx unit 2, then units 4,3,5,6,9,13 and 14 to give 8 chimes (not 10 as I said in earlier post) these can all be triggered by screen clicks, blockly, lua etc.

The mp3 recordings can be uploaded/replaced via USB on Windows (not Linux  ) but then they have to be re-included into Domoticz as I believe they roll over the codes.

We have a "Dinner Gong" that is triggered from the kitchen to call everyone from the 4 far corners of the house ( with flashing light for xbox users. But my kids favourite (as they chose it) is on the alarm 1st warning, a zombie voice saying "I will kill you" in the hope that a burglar would shit his pants and run off quick

Hope this helps

Thanks, BD.
I found that one too, but waited to see if it was the right sort.
And thanks for the detailed setup guide!
Off-topic, my StellaZ and I have settled into a sort of working relationship.
If I just change its setpoint, and change the batteries before they fall below 1.3V, it works pretty well.

With the ELV Max! gear I can get a trv with lcd AND wall stat (both better looking) for the same or less than a StellaZ. They also work independently by manual control (item by item) stat control (room by room) or web/app (by whole house). Not perfect, but the best I've used so far.

If you go for the same doorbell and need help, just give me a yell :)

Thanks!
But you also need a Cube?

Just one if you want to interface with domoticz and the interweb. Although I don't see a reason why a 2nd (or 3rd) couldn't be used. I need 4 wifi points in my house so I'm expecting possible signal dropout as I expand the system.

Ok guys, that has nothing to do with the original question.. This is the RFlink section.

If you want to know what doorbells work with RFLink, check the device list: http://www.nemcon.nl/blog2/2015/07/devlist
It also lists which doorbells it can send to.
