Nodon Soft Remote crc 360x

Post by misjel »

Hello,

I bought two Nodon Soft remotes but I can't get them to work..

When I include the remote i get an unknown device. It seems that this device isn't part of the open zwave config.
I modified the xml and used the octan remote config:

Code: Select all

<Product type="0002" id="0002" name="SoftRemote" config="nodon/crc3100OctanRemote.xml"/>
I still can't use the remote.

Does somebody get this remotes to work an can explane how?

Best regards,

Michel

Hi,
You are right, Soft Remote is not supported by OpenZwave.
Some users have found a solution in here :

I just got send a Soft Remote ! What a nice little device, and it has a magnet ! Thanks NodOn !!

Here is how i made it working (Open up the manual !):

1. First i reset the Soft Remote
2. Include (secure) the Software Remote in 'Gateway Mode'
3. Add your zwave Controller (Node 1) to Group 1 of the Soft Remote node (From the Node Management dropdown Groups/Network)
4. Select the Soft Remote node from the nodes table, and change parameter 3 (Scene Type) to 'Scene Activation'

Press the button labeled 'Apply Configuration' at the bottom of the settings

press a button on the remote to wake it up, and wait about 10 seconds.

Now.... it can be received by Domoticz (you can open up the domoticz web gui a second time, and open the log screen)

On the remote, you can press normal, long press, double press etc.. Quite a few combinations you can make !

I suggest to press a button, then switch to the devices view, and you will see the last received button on top (if you order by date/time), and label it correctly

So..... now we have the buttons in Domoticz... and now you can create Scenes/Groups, and learn these buttons as activation code

Hi,
Had nothing but trouble with this and finally saw your post above.
Tried it and managed to add the node, but step 3 can't be done, as the Group 1 section for that node is blank:

That does not look good. Good you exclude/include again ?
How does the node table look ? Does it recognize that it is from the Manufacturer NodeOn ?

Included and excluded numerous times.
It doesn't recognise it as anything, just Unknown.
Not sure if i need to follow someone else's instructions and use the config from another device, however i am very new to Domoticz and could do with a detailed step by step guide on what files to edit/create

Thanks,
Richie

Thanks for that.
Did you have to do something prior to adding the node (some people have had to edit config files i believe)?
As you can see from my screenshot it is not recognising the device:

In your Domoticz Settings, do you have selected the 'beta' release channel ? Else you can just download the latest installer from

Ok, you will have to exclude/include again (did you do a reset as well ?), and include it in 'gateway mode', this is explained on the back of the manual

Sorry to wake this thread to life, but I followed these instructions and they work...but I do't want to use scenes, I just want a click or doublecklick on a button to toggle a light, and I cannot figure out how to do that, I can not make domoticz react to any button set to "mono" mode.

I set button 1+3 to mono mode and included the controller and a switch in the z-wave group 2, but I can see no entry in the log when pushing a button.

what is the intended way for this to work?

What is wrong with using scenes ?
You can also directly configure the nodeon in the group of a lamp if that is what you want in the group editor or via the zwave control panel.
I do not have experience with this, i work with the scenes, and find that i have total control with all the buttons (including long pushes) when using scenes

well a scene cannot toggle a device, so I need two scenes per device I wish to control. that amounts to a lot. and with 3 functions per button, 4 buttons per remote, the amount of light switches in the gui has far exceeded the point where the domoticz gui can be used to turn lights on and off.
trying to figure out if I have to search for a scene or a switch in the gui to turn a light off makes it take even longer.

I bought physical remotes because the number of swithes in the switches tab was too large to make it practical, maybe I just just accept that using my iphone to control lights is not practical, just for upstairs I now have 51 switchtes to scroll through out of which 48 are scene controlling swithces that are always listed as being on
