OpenZWave sees Aeotec Power as Gas Meter

Post by hamish »

This one seems quite strange. I have a RasPi-2 with RaZBerry card. It runs the Domoticz rPi image from March 2016. It was (Mostly) working. But now gives strange results... e.g.

Code: Select all

2016-04-09 18:05:35.889 Info, Node004, Response RTT 31 Average Response RTT 40
2016-04-09 18:05:35.890 Detail, Node004, Refreshed Value: old value=false, new value=false, type=bool
2016-04-09 18:05:35.890 Detail, Node004, Changes to this value are not verified
2016-04-09 18:05:35.890 Info, Node004, Received Meter report from node 4: Gas=3.874
2016-04-09 18:05:35.890 Detail, Node004, Refreshed Value: old value=3.770, new value=3.874, type=decimal
2016-04-09 18:05:35.891 Detail, Node004, Changes to this value are not verified
2016-04-09 18:05:35.891 Info, Node004, Previous value was 0.000W, received 45312 seconds ago.
2016-04-09 18:05:35.891 Detail, Node004, Refreshed Value: old value=0.000, new value=0.000, type=decimal
So it was working 45312 seconds (~12 hours) ago and then started to report the instant power as Gas... Right after updating the OS (apt-get upgrade) and rebooting.

That SHOULD be saying around 7.4W of power consumption (It has an LED light strip on it). Instead its 3.874 (Presumably m^3/sec?) Gas usage. Now as I have a spare uSD I swapped out the Domoticz for the RaZBerry software. Which reports correctly. Swapping back to Domoticz (And the included OpenZWave) and it's reporting gas again...

Anyone got any ideas? The meter itself seems OK. That's incrementing slowly the kWh reading. But instant consumption is shown as 0W on the meter and the logs say it's Gas on the Power reports for some strange reason... Voltage and Current seems to be reporting OK though. Makes no diff whether it's polled or push. Both say Gas.

Fixed it... Someone else may have the same issue at some stage. It looks like the file zwcfg_0x..... was corrupted. Somewhere. I'm not up with how the flow runs, but it would appear that Domoticz initialises something in OpenZWave from that file. So OpenZWave thought there was a gas meter there somewhere.

Stopping domoticz, then removing the zwcfg_0x* files (There were two of them) and restarting resulted in a system that works once more.

FFS... Now it's logging as a WaterMeter...

Anyone else seen corruption? I mean now I know it's easy enough to remove the file and restart. But it's annoying...
