System Alive Checker (Ping) > Apple TV 4 with TVos 9.2

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Domoticz. I have installed it on an RPi3 with the SD image and am just starting to play around with it.

One of the first things I set up was using 'System Alive Checker (Ping)' for my TV and Apple TV 4.

It has been working fine for the first couple of days.

Today I upgraded my ATV4 to the latest TVos 9.2.

Hereafter I noticed Domoticz saying my ATV4 was 'on' even though it is turned off.

It seems as something has changed with the release of TVos 9.2 regarding networking.

The ATV4 is replying to ping even though I have put it to sleep.

Am I'm the only one seeing this or are others experiencing the same "issue"?

You are not the only one. The system alive checker has problems.
For some it seems to work, for others it doesn't.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I have searched and read some of the posts regarding system alive checker, but I do not think my "issue" is directly related to the problems with system alive checker.

Before upgrading to TVos 9.2 I was not able to ping my ATV4 when in sleep-mode. But after upgrading to TVos 9.2 my ATV is replying to ping both when it is awake or asleep.

I''m "pinging" from my Windows PC when testing.

I've switched to the Ip ping Perl script from the Wiki and must say it is more reliable. However it did not change the fact that my ATV4 still replies to ping even in sleep-mode. It must be a change in the latest tvos.

Ok, that's why I also use the powerconsumption of for instance a PC before I switch it off.
If pingable and watt's > 30, leave on, otherwise switch off.
