WT0122 Pool Thermometer

Post by nigels0 »

Hi,

I have one of these and have set the FineOffset protocol to be on for the RFXcomm RFXTX433E, but it isn't recognised at all. It doesn't come up as an unused device. I see that it is a supported device and I'm using firmware 246

Any ideas on what is going wrong?

Thanks.

could you try with the RFXMngr application to see if it is received?

I was hoping you weren't going to say that! I'm using a Mac.... And it is far from the rfxcom - anyhow, looks like the only option.

Just download a Windows virtual machine and install VirtualBox or so on your Mac.
http://dev.modern.ie/ has some ready to use Windows VM's. Import it in VirtualBox and you are good to go.

Allow the VM to use the RFXCOM attached to USB, then you can use RFXmngr on your Mac.

Well I got RFXmgr running and connected the RFXTX433E to it and I'm getting nothing from it. Even with <undec on> active, nothing appears. I know the sensor is working because it happily communicates with the separate display.

Looks like it isn't a Domoticz problem - but a RFXCom issue. Do you know who I should contact?

Do you receive other sensors in the RFXMngr application ? It could also be that you have to enable a certain protocol?
If all should be fine, please contact the support department of RFXCom

Hmmm. Although it looks identical, it doesn't work and Bert won't analyse the signal because he says that the Chinese would keep changing it.

Bit of a pisser as I bought this specifically to work with Domoticz.

If you are in the market for a pool thermometer - be careful with this one.

Correct, the real and supported WT0122 has the text "Model: WT0122" on the backside of the display unit:

The non-working doesn't have this text:

Any idea where you can buy the correct WT0122? I had the same issue, and I'm trying desperately to find some where to buy one of the correct units, or an Oregon Scientific sensor...
