smoke detector question

Post by CronoS »

Hi,

I recently bought two Flamingo FA20RF smoke detectors. I have added them to Domoticz (they are seen as KD101 devices), but I have a question regarding the use of it:

1. When I press the "panic" button; the alarm sound is always for 5 seconds or so, after these 5 seconds the alarm silenes. Is there a way to change the alarm times to a value that I want? Or are these times different when real smoke is detected? I couldn't find anything regarding this in the manual of the smoke detector
2. When I press the (light/panic) button in Domoticz; it changes it state to panic. Afterwards I need to push the button "reset" in order to get it back to normal? Is there a way to automate this so that I don't have to click the Reset button ? I didn't find this option in a blocky?

Thanks!

Panic button will sound the alarm for 5 seconds. Real alarms will sound as long as there is smoke detected.
If the system would reset automatically you would never know there was an alarm when you were not at home. So for me it's good that I have to press it myself.
If you want to do it by blockly you can use the "open url" block and put in the json call for resetting the smoke sensor. The url of the json can be captured in your browser by pressing the reset button (while you are in the Inspect element menu).

Thanks for the reply. I think you're right and I think this is OK.
One question though, if you press reset button in domoticz, will this then silence the alarm always or must you wait until the unit does not detect any smoke? A friend of mine had some false alarms with this unit, therefore the question. I think in some cases it could be usefull to remote silence it if I have to?
