Collecting data from watermeter (sensus)
Hi All,
I am planning in expanding my Domoticz system to include data from the watermeter.
Ofcourse I have search this forums (and google) but I find the found information a bit unclear.
First let me explain what I have:
I have the Domoticz software running on Ubtuntu and read out the smart meter via USB on the P1 port. This works like a charm.
Nothing else is done hardware/software.
Now I have read about the CNY70. Which seems to me the way to go. But this is connected to the PiFace (which I don't have). The part that is unclear to me is how does the PiFace communicate with Domoticz. I have seen the setup/installation but it is talking about rasppi (which I don't have). Maybe the installation is the same on Linux ? How do I connect the PiFace to my Ubuntu ?
In near future I also want to read out my CV (like tapwater and heating) and beside that I want to have the readings of the Solar panels which I am planning to buy (with a Solaredge)
I can find information about Solaredge and CV on this forum ( haven't really read into it) But my main question is about the PiFace for reading my Sensus watermeter.
Regards
Ronald

You can also build it using a aurduino at this moment I'm building one myself

Hi,
Thanks for you reply. I had seen the page you are referring.
As I don't have an Aurduino board I will have to buy this as well.
As I am very new to domoticz, how do I connect this to domoticz ?

Re: Collecting data from watermeter (sensus)
HI
I am new here, but not to HA. I use an ISY: https://www.universal-devices.com/resid ... zw-series/
I am a kickstarter supporter of the below water meter/controller. I know it will be compatable with ISY and also controllable via wifi. I imagine domoticz will be able to interface with is.

Thanks

Why do you think this ? (I imagine domoticz will be able to interface with is)ccclapp wrote:HI

Also nothing wrong with the mysensors method, total cost will be < 10$ if you do some good shopping

Re: Collecting data from watermeter (sensus)
Hi thanks for the reply. Nice to join the group here.
The WaterHero is a robust device that monitors and controls water flow, emergency shutoff, reporting, etc. It is intended for protection and management.
I am not familiar with mysensors, but for monitoring only at $10, that's great.
I look forward to learning more about your site/creation.
Thanks!!

Re: Collecting data from watermeter (sensus)
Hi a followup if I may: I do not have a "smart" water or gas meter. Can mysensors handle that? What meter requirements does mysensors have?gizmocuz wrote: Also nothing wrong with the mysensors method, total cost will be < 10$ if you do some good shopping

At least a normal watermeter can be monitored with my sensors and domiticz
As long as they have some sort of a wheel witch can be monitored
