I've tried to update the devices, but nothing new... Device is recognized correctly accoring to the xml.

I don't know what I can else try to do...

EDIT: Which version of openzwave are you using? I'm running 1.3-523-gb258e9e with domoticz 2.3530 on my raspi

I have updated to the latest openzwave and domoticz version (both built directly from git) and then I have reincluded the Devolo TRV.
Guess what... still nothing. No TFA Device in the list.

Do I have fake Devolo Devices? :cry:

After updating, check if the changes in the XML are still there. Because I don't know how long it takes until the changes in open zwave find their way in a release.
What manufacturer and device name is listed in the open zwave control panel?

Your changes are already in the git repo.

I can't imagine that it's enough to use the same configuration as for danfoss. On some config file there must be an information about the additional TFA Device that is recognized at your Domoticz.

And you don't have the temperature measurement device as an unused device in your device list?
Because the working setpoint means that the device already uses the right configuration...

OK, no clue. Only difference is that I'm using a z-wave USB stick, no razzberry, but that should make no difference...

Only the danfoss devices have no temperature reading, the main reason to get devolo...

Yes, I have no clue, too. Thats so strange...
I have paid extra charge for the devolo devices and then i can't use it :(

Maybe thats an openzwave related issue. Are there any openzwave developers?

It is enough. Normally, all capabilities (supported command classes) of the Z-Wave-Device are detected by the z-wave protocol during the interview without configuration. In case of the Danfoss/Devolo TRVs the only thing being modified is changing the base of the temperature set point (0 based)
Theoretically a device could work without any existing configuration as long as the manufacturer does not use any special stuff... one of the advantages of z-wave. Although some might not work correctly, at least all devices should show up. And for the Thermometer device, no special parameters are necessary, so it works straight out of the box without any dedicated config.
If you look at the danfoss/devolo config file, it's almost empty...

So, the thermometer device not being detected is most likely not a problem of OpenZwave, this should be visible anyway. Maybe the z-wave interview is cancelled for some reason before the device is complete... this could be a razzberry issue then, because with my Aeon Z-Wave USB Stick everything is detected.
Adding the node to Z-Wave network really worked fine? Because normally, the new device has to be really close to the Z-Wave-Server (like 1m close) when adding it, one reason why I got the Stick (has builtin battery, It can add devices even if unplugged).

That would be really annoying, if it has something to do with the Razberry. I don't want to change to AEON. There must be a solution...

It would be nice to know what the other users are using on their RPi.

When the interview is not completed succesfully there should be any entry in the log of openzwave or domoticz. But I can't see any messages related to that problem...

Hi,

Sorry for getting involved so late, but yes, I have a Razberry with Devolo Thermostat working properly, except for setting its internal clock. I have proper temp readings (checked that with another thermometer) in Domoticz and I am scheduling temp settings on the thermostat.

So it can work to add to your (and mine!) frustration and (yet) cluelessness.

I tried it now 10 times to exclude and include the device... It doesn't work. The situation drives me insane

I could reset the Razberry Controller, but don't know what this can help.

EDIT2: Yes it's working! The temperature sensor shows the correct room temperature! I'm feeling really happy now :) Because I can now start coding a climate control :)

Hello there,

I was struggling with the same problem (razberry, Devolo Thermostat, but no Temp reading), adding the new Command Class to the XML file really helped. After waiting for half an hour after doing the edit and restarting the service, I finally got my temperature.

Any ideas why it is not added during the inclusion process. I tried 3 or four times.

It can't be an Open Z-Wave issue, I got it running with the previous version by just adding the one necessary line to the manufacturer_specific_whatever.xml... but I'm using a Aeon Labs Z-Wave stick. As this seems to happen only with razzberry adapters, my first guess would be that the interview is either not completed or not done properly at all. And it looks like that's not a general issue because a few posts above somebody mentioned that it worked with a razzberry without problems. Maybe it's also a matter of the distance to the Razzberry?

I would anyway recommend using a Z-Wave stick when having more devices. Because for including devices, the Adapter and the Device have to be really close together... that works like a charm with the Aeon Labs USB Stick as it has a builtin battery. You simply unplug the stick, carry it to the device, do the inclusion and plug it back in afterwards. Especially convenient for devices that can't be relocated like builtin wall switches, so it's not necessary to always carry the Raspberry around the house.

Otherwise try to get the Raspberry+Razzberry very close to the TRV when doing the inclusion and keep it nearby until the interview is finished, this might also help...

I did indeed setup the RasPi right next to the Comet - about 20cm distance. Started the inclusion and went to bed, to give the two a lot of time to get to know each other. In the morning there was only the Setpoint and Clock, so I made the above mentioned edits and the Temp appeared as well.

Maybe when I have some more time to spare, I'll try the USB Z-Wave Stick (not Aeon Labs, but ZMEEUZB, from ZwaveMe?) with another RasPi...
