Virtual shared device workaround

Post by blackdog65 »

Hi guys,

I have a slave RasPi2 with some E3Q Max! heating products connected to it that show up as virtual temp sensors. So far so good. :D
But... (there's always a but ;) ) as they are virtual devices they will not show up on my master device (CubieTruck).
This is a well reported problem but it probably won't be addressed any time soon as the Devs have bigger fish to fry.

My question (at last  ) how would I send a json command from virtual_device_A/Slave to update virtual_device_B/Master?
Would it be possible to write a script that reads the temp of a slave device and sends it to a master device... say every 5 or 15 minutes? If so, where do I start? Any tips?

My Lua Scripting book arrives from Amazon today... another 6 months and I'll maybe quit Blockly ;)

Not solved but...
I changed the ip and device details in the E3Q javascript and bypassed the slave RasPi and sent the info directly to the master on dummy hardware. :ugeek: Damn a win feels good! :ugeek:

Hello fellow StellaZ user!

How does your RPi link to your E3Q stuff?
Isn't it 868.3MHz?
Zwave - Sigma Z+ stick, Fibaro, Horstmann, Neo Coolcam, EUROtronic
RFlink - IR detectors and temperatures
Wifi - YeeLights, ESP32s, Anoop sockets
Zigbee - lots with zigbee2mqtt and ZbBridge

 don't use Stellaz now... useless!
The E3Q stuff is excellent as a stand alone heating solution 1/3 cost of honeywell set up!
It only (so far) shows temp reporting and valve position in domoticz... but it's getting there.
have a read through viewtopic.php?f=34&t=841
