Domoticz with door chime's

Post by stuiow »

Got a question, hopefully a simple one.

I want to replace my 2 standard door bells with lightwavesrf ones.

I was looking at getting 2 plugin door chimes but then I thought, why don't I get the lightwave MP3 door chime and then another bell push button for my other door in the house.

If I were to do the latter, would I be able to setup different melodies per door?

I use Domoticz with RFXTRX433e, also have raspberry z-Wave GPIO board installed in my PI if anyone can suggest another method.

All I want to do is start to build options so when the door bell is pushed, camera start monitoring/light turn on.. but that's later.

Cheers

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

I have 4 of theses 1 is the expensive lwrf and 3 are the IDENTICAL cheap Siemens ones (£11 + p&p)

There is a process for adding all 8 chimes from each unit to Domoticz... 32 in my case
Once added, a blockly script can link bell push "A" to ring bells A, B, C & D (my house is pretty big) and takes a photo of the postman.
Bell push "B" in my kitchen sounds a dinner gong mp3 on all 4 which brings the kids running from their xbox or whatever. :ugeek:

That leaves 6 spare sounds per unit. Smoke alarm, burglar alarm etc. Our warning sound on the burglar alarm is a creepy voice whispering "I will kill you!" which appeals to my (and the kids) sick humour  I'm in the process of adding geo-fencing so that when either my wife or myself arrives it can make an "arrival" sound... maybe.

Let me know if you get stuck

Nice one thanks, I do like the sound of your setup :) I can see where your kids are coming from with their humour :-)
