[Synology] Corrupted installation Domoticz

Post by CronoS »

Hi,

I am very new to Domoticz. I have installed the SynoCommunity package of Domoticz on my Synology DS 414. This package was installed correctly and was working OK. But then I have installed an update from the Domoticz GUI (not through a package, I think 2.5.x was installed or something). After this upgrade the Domoticz installation was corrupted on my NAS. I could open the settings page, but pages weren't correct anymore. I have tried to remove the package from my Synology, this was possible and the package was removed according to my NAS.
Now, the reinstallation of the Domoticz package doesn't work anymore. If I go to the webpage, something is still listening on port 8084, I get the background of the Domoticz page, but that is it? I think this is causing an issue why the reinstallation fails.

So basically my question is, how can I remove everything from my NAS, so that I can redeploy the package succesfully?? I cannot find any files on my NAS related to Domoticz, so basically I don't know how to remove it? I have searched the forums, but I can't find it really? Can somebody give me a short explaination of what I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance?
Best Regards..

You can use WinSCP to navigate in your NAS and search for the place where you installed the package. Please be very careful not to delete anything else!
Use the SCP protocol, use port 22 (make sure SSH is enabled on the NAS), user name is: root and the password is the password of your admin account.

Next time don't install an update trough the webinterface, but only via Synology Package Manager.

Which package repo do you use btw? The one of jumbtroll has very recent packages. Have a search on 'jadahl' / user 'jumbotroll' on this forum.
I am not active on this forum anymore.

That was my mistake in Domoticz, to not use a package as update and to update it in the normal Domoticz UI.

I was able to fix it. I have looked with WinSCP but I didn't saw any files. I think eventually my browsercache was the issue that I still saw something on that URL.
But today I still was not able to reinstall the package, the fix was to delete the SynoCommunity Package source location in DSM, press OK and then to re-added the SynoCommunity URL again. After this the installation was working OK again. Rather a strange solution, but it worked in the end.

I know also updated the package now using the Source location; http://jadahl.dscloud.me/sspks/ ... I was also not able to do this earlier, because I forget to enable the Every Publisher selectionbox. This gave me an error when I wanted to update the package.

Hello!
I need help uninstalling properly my previous Domoticz installation. I did a similar mistake to CronoS as I installed Jadahl's package on top of my previous installation without uninstalling it.
It results in the error message telling that port 8084 is already used by another programme or reserved by the system while there is apparently no installed Domoticz in the package manager interface.
I checked all other programmes installed and none seems to be using the port 8084. When I go to http://diskstation:8084, I arrive on the Domoticz GUI page but it tells me that Domoticz is offline.
Therefore, I think that my previous install is still there but is corrupted.
Tried to reboot the NAS (DS214play with DSM5.2 btw) Domoticz keeps reloading. Tried to find where it is installed with WinSCP but I am not 100% familiar with linux and can't find where it is installed (can't find folders called Domoticz or something like this). I also tried to check the running processes with the ps function in terminal mode but same conclusion: nothing that looks like to Domoticz.

Can you please help to solve this. I wouln't like to have reset my NAS....

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
