Hi,
I'm running Domoticz on a Rpi for over a year now, mostly without problems.
But lately Domoticz (or the Rpi) becomes unresponsive, which makes my wife really mad (no lights, tv, etc )
Being a Windows person I tend to setting up a Windows server for Domoticz, but this will undoubtedly sky rocket my energy bill.
On this forum I've read that many people have a Rpi for Domoticz, but few Windows users.
Can someone please help me with the best way to go if I need stability?
Greetz, Patrick

VMware ESXi + Ubuntu Server 14.04 with Domoticz on it. See also my signature.
Runs ROCKsolid. And if it dares to act strange, it gets kicked by Monit: http://domoticz.com/wiki/Monitoring_domoticz but this almost never occurs.
The NUC uses 14W (and 18W when it is very busy), so that is a cheap houseguest for me

My Domoticz is also running on a RPI (B, latest stable version). Every thing is working OK. Perhaps the hardware is not the problem.

If it used to be stable, and now crashes every once in a while, it is probably the sd card.

Re: Which server hardware for Domoticz
A good powersupply is key for the Pi. I have also eliminated SD card writes as far as possible by using overlayfs for /var and the Domoticz DB. This also accelerates IO as updates are in RAM overlays. Described on https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Setting_u ... spberry_Pi

Re: Which server hardware for Domoticz
Hi guys,
Thanks for the info!
I've went for the Ubuntu server solution on a dedicated mini-itx board.
Maybe it's my lack of knowledge but installing (Domoticz & MyDomoAtHome) was a whole lot easier than on a Rpi
No failures since first run, wishful thinking
