Need Help with el Cheapo PIRs

Post by bassmint »

Can anyone give me a play by play on how to get them to work?

It appears that it is constantly triggering.
I've read everything on here about them that I could find. Tried all the different tricks, but have no joy.

any help appreciated...

I got a bunch of them from China a year ago, know they are supposed to be 3-5v.
The ones that are sold all over the place.
Don't have specific specs other than "cheap".

I did forget to mention that they are connected to ESP NodeMCU v0.9 via EasyESP
I did read that the RF from the ESP may cause the issues, so I have one on a line about 3' away but get no joy.

I have my el cheapo pir's on ESP-E12 with EasyESP.
They are working.
I have VCC on 5v, on board is a 3.3v regulator.
You can also install a jumper wire past the 5V regulator on board to make this unit work at 3.3V. Sensor uses [email protected].

okey, i think this discussion is going nowhere....
you really need to post a link to the hardware otherwise people can not help

i googled for the brand 'el cheapo' and got to many results

as home automation is not el cheapo, i suggest buying some good hardware

Im sorry for such a bad description Gizmocuz. A little frustration makes me stupid.
I think the stupidity extended to turning sensitivity pot wrong direction to decrease. After adjustment, it appears to be ok. Will see over time.

fwiw here is a picture I should have added on first post. (minus lens to see logo)

No problemo...

But if it works good, it would be nice to post a like where you can buy them ;)

Ha... I like the logo. As most other Chinese stuff, they ripped it off somewhere else:

Good Movie btw.
