Comet Z-Wave Thermostat

Post by MightyMike »

HI All,

Anyone got experience with this termostat?
I just bought and installed it, included the device to my Z-Wave Network.
Recieved several devices (temp sensor, setpoints, thermostat mode etc). but none of them seem to work.
Setpoints stays at 0.0 degrees, Mode stays at Heating mode, Temp indicator stays at 0.0.

Anyone got a clue? (wakeup interval is at 300 seconds) and polling interval is set at 5 seconds (got 2 devices for polling).

EDIT:

if this device isnt supported yet, is there any way i can help to make it supported?

You could check here: https://github.com/OpenZWave/open-zwave ... ecific.xml
If it's not in OpenZwave, it's will probably not work in Domoticz.
And more about adding a device to open-zwave: https://github.com/OpenZWave/open-zwave ... ng-Devices

Hi Salvation,

Thanks for your reply.
I found both sites and the Comet is not in there.
I wanted to make an XML config file but my experience of open zwave and it's configuration is none.
If you or anyone else has experience in creating those config files i would love to get some help in creating these config files .

The documentation on the Comet is also NONE if it comes to the protocol.

what i found in t he log file is this:

2015-11-26 18:25:53.310 OpenZWave: Value_Added: Node: 7 (0x07), CommandClass: SWITCH MULTILEVEL, Label: Step Size, Instance: 1
2015-11-26 18:25:53.310 OpenZWave: Value_Added: Node: 7 (0x07), CommandClass: SWITCH MULTILEVEL, Label: Inc, Instance: 1

2015-11-26 18:25:53.312 OpenZWave: Value_Added: Node: 7 (0x07), CommandClass: THERMOSTAT MODE, Label: Mode, Instance: 1
2015-11-26 18:25:53.320 OpenZWave: Value_Added: Node: 7 (0x07), CommandClass: THERMOSTAT SETPOINT, Label: Cooling 1, Instance: 2
2015-11-26 18:25:53.323 OpenZWave: Value_Added: Node: 7 (0x07), CommandClass: THERMOSTAT SETPOINT, Label: Dry Air, Instance: 8
2015-11-26 18:25:53.325 OpenZWave: Value_Added: Node: 7 (0x07), CommandClass: BATTERY, Label: Battery Level, Instance: 1

is this enough to create a config file?

After putting the device a couple of times in install mode and enable polling, the temperature and mode can now be read in domoticz.
Setpoints are still nog working :(

Next Update:

I created a device configuration file based on the config from the controller.
(setpoints had a min and max value of 0 (so i think this here is the problem))
but now i want to know:

when is this config file used? (i also modified the manufacturer_specific.xml)

it looks like it never loads my config file.
Is this config file only used on inclusion?

Regards,

Michael

Too bad, I don't have any experience in adding a device. I've looked into once for the Eminent power meter, since it was the same as some other device which was already present in OpenZwave.
But it seems you made some progress.

It turns out that my thermostat was not functioning properly. so i returned it.
Both the StellaZ and Comet are not functioning as expected.
Next one i'm going to give a try is the Danfoss LC-13.
