RGBW Bulb in Domoticz?

Post by Evelen »

Hi.

I want to buy some RGBW lights to use in domoticz, like this:
https://www.tronika.no/no/lysstyring/83 ... zw098.html

And I have some question:

1. do I need some additional hardware-equipment to use this? (I have a UZB1 Z-Wave interface)
2. Is it posible to use this and change colors and stuff in Domoticz? And how easy is it relative to normal on/off switshes?
I'm not a very advanced user, so I want to avoid scripting

Yes it's really cheap. On aliexpress you can get a gu10 rgbww for just 10 euros. A bridge is a device that you connect to your router with WiFi or cable and allows you to control the light. They do that because the light can be cheaper and less energy consumption. Philips is the better and more expensive way then milight

Ok, so if I understand you correct.
I Can buy one of these: http://www.milight.com/milight-wifi-rec ... oller-box/ (that is compatible with Domoticz?)

And than buy MILIGHT RGBW bulps and than controll them via domoticz? (also, if i have more then one bulp, can i controll them individually?

Yes you can add the milight bridge in domoticz. Be aware that a milight bridge only can Control 4 different groups. Each group can contain more lights but they will switch at the same time then.

Aha so for example i can have:

- 4 separate bulps and controll them individual
or:
- 3 bulp to control individual and a group whit 2 (to controll at the same time)

I guess I just need to buy more controllers if i need more.

Anyway, can i se a screenshot og video from the Domoticz GUI whit Milight?

4 seperate groups on 1 bridge. example for one bridge:
group1: bulb RGBW
group2: Spot1 RGBW, Spot2 RGBW, Spot3 RGBW, etc. (control them together)
group3: LED strip RGBW
group4: Bulb RGBW

For now there are a view drawbacks on controlling them with domoticz. you can have only a few hondred different colors.
You can't use the white and colors together. Only one white color possible.
This is how it looks like in domoticz it's the same as for the hue:

Hi again :)
Do i Need any scriping to get this to work or will it work right in the GUI?

I already have a PHILIPS 69143-65-PH
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbi ... =6914365PH
If i buy a Phillips bridge, will this be compatible?

Also, should I then buy the new bridge? (is it better than the old one?)

I have that Z-wave LED RGBW Lamp - ZW098 from Aeotec. I can answer your questions:
1. no. It is like any other z-wave device. You just secure include the lamp and then you can control on/off and set a color from Domoticz. See my post here.
2. yes, you can change color directly in domoticz. See the picture:
