New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
Hi all,
After including my Aeon labs Multisensor 4 (Gen 5) succesfully some time ago, I found a good reason to get me another one. After checking the Manufacturers Specifics, the new Multisensor 6 from Aeon labs seems supported as well, and since it has 2 more features (vibration and UV) I decided to get this new toy.
It took me half an hour to actually find the inclusion button, but then it worked quite smoothly... or that's what I thought:
- Temperature and humidty are working straight away.
- Lux is working, even though it seems to need some finetuning.
- UV showed up in the list, but stays quite stubborn at 0.0. I still gotta test that one in broad daylight though, will do tomorrow.
- Motion is working without a flaw.
But:
- I can't find the sensor indicating vibrations.
- And what is the Burglar indicator? Does the same as my motion sensor.
I'm a happy user of Domoticz for 9 months now, combining Zwave with 433MHz and most of it is flawless. I'm using beta-updates, running V2.3116 now on a Raspberry Pi with Z-Stick and RFX-com.
Anyone any solutions? Please?

vibration, i think it will send a burglar alarm (as mentioned i thought in the manual),
you wont get a sensor with a value of how much vibration is there
i never got a good value for UV when using inside, did not try it outside, maybe you could tell if that works better?

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
Thanks for your reply, at least I'm not trying to find the vibration sensor anymore...
Vibration:
The manual is speaking of 'a smart Vibration sensor' that will detect when 'someone attempts to disassemble your Multisensor'. This might be the burglar alarm, but from testing it only seems to turn on when motion is detected, and not upon ticking or moving the sensor. But I gotta admit: this is a minor thing to me.
UV:
Working outside for sure. I've put it in broad sunlight and it got up till 2.0 UVI. Making sense, since glass is normally blocking UV-radiaton (we won't get a suntan when we stay indoors).
Lux:
Actually better than the Multisensor 4 in 1. In broad sunlight, it went up till 29888 Lux. After taking it inside, it went back till 135 Lux, while my Multisensor 4 in 1 stays stable at the max of 1000 Lux in the meanwhile...
Conclusion is that I will replace my outside Multisensor 4 for this new Multisensor 6, while I'll use the Multisensor 4 at my indoor purpose (bathroom).
One last question please. When checking the configuration parameters, supposedly you can adjust the value of the 4 numeric sensors by giving a value for calibration on parameter 201, 202, 203 and 204. I don't seem to be able to enter a calibration value for my thermometer and humidity sensor, because the button 'Apply configuration' won't help me here. Any advice on this?
And thanks for your everlasting support, Gizmocuz.

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
I'm also having problems calibrating the Temperature on the MultiSensor6.
When trying to change the parameter to -2.3, after saving it is changed to 255. I also tried 255 - 23 (for 2.3 degrees) and set the parameter to 232, but then is is changed to 0.
So i'm not able to change it properly.

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
i've attached the latest engineering spec for the multisensor 6 that i received recently from aeotec. there are some differences in the calibration configuration section from previous versions, so maybe take another look at this and see if it helps.

Not sure what changed, but tried again different values. Looks like it's not working though.

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
i haven't tried it myself, but have you tried setting parameter 201 to value -23?
or 23, depending on which way (up or down) you are calibrating the sensor. the manual says that a configuration value of 23 would equal 2.3 degrees.

Tried both, but when applying the config then the value is changed to 255 or 0

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
interesting, i've seen something similar (but didn't have time to investigate in detail) when applying a config change for a z-wave device it immediately resets it to the original value. wondering if it is an OZW issue rather than a sensor issue, and maybe related to https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... zuXsp84J1E
which version of domoticz are you using?

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
Actually, Loyske is exactly describing my problem. Thanks for entering the engineering specs Stimpy, but it won't work here. I tried -21 for -2.1 °C, but I got 255 instead. Same for humidity: I want it to go up some 14% RH but supposedly can't enter this value. I tried 14, +14 and 14RH. Value comes back to 0 all the time.
Anyone some ideas?

Battery powered nodes need time to get the parameters set. Once the the node is waked up the parameters will be stored.

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
Hi
I have the same problem as GettingThere, there is no way I can calibrate the sensors, and the same 255 value is returned via entering a negative number, and 0 otherwise. Also interesting, the sensor is mains powered (not via the battery)

Mine is also usb-powered, same results as Holland.
I hope someone is able to help us out here?

Hello?
I've some problems whit my Multisensor6.
I don't see the Temp&humidity and Motion device. I've tried excluding and include many time without solving.
Any suggestion?

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
Oi Flyer,
Got 2 questions:
- are you using beta updates? (as in: the latest)?
- how do you include? Do you only use Domoticz' inclusion button, or do you actually push the button on your zwave-controller? I went wrong there a few times... For maximum functionality you need to include through the software only.

I solved by editing in domoticz edit device -> adjustament °C

up
Someone found a solution ?
I'm also having always 0 or 255 in calibration values.
Thx for your help !

Re: New Multisensor 6 seems to miss functionality
No solution via OZW, but i managed to calibrate the temp in Domoticz. When you go to Temperature and then click Edit on the device, you calibrate the temp there!
