Re: ELV Max! Heating control system
Hi BD65,
this is my second heating season with the system.
So far, so good.
It works fine stand alone, but MaxBuddy adds the integration into Domoticz.
It's a shame that MaxBuddy has been abandoned but it does do a reasonable job.
For the price it fits the bill.

Re: ELV Max! Heating control system
Once back to the Domoticz.js script for Max!Buddy software ...
i'm running all the things on my raspberry pi 2 and i got it working perfectly two days ago...
whatever happended i had to do a clean install with new sd-card image... set up domoticz, set up maxbuddy ... both working fine ...
but the Domoticz.js in maxbuddy doesn't anymore... it just print the following in maxbuddy log file:
two day ago it printed links with the code for domoticz... now there is nothing and no new devices in domoticz.
Yes the script is activated in maxbuddy... Yes the HID, IP and PORT in Domoticz.js are set correctly... and yes in domoticz new devices are accepted... domoticz is latest beta (with latest stable it does not start on port 80) and maxbuddy is 9.16.2 with 1.4.1 libraries...
can anyone help me with that issue?

yeah mine is running fine.
I have the core domoticz script to populate the domoticz items.
I also have a battery monitor that I run a couple of times a day to email me if an EQ-3 item has a failing battery.
Plus I also run a monitor to keep an eye on a dummy Domoticz switch for when my log burner is on. If it is I force all radiators to ON irrespective of the standard heating requirements.
All mine are running on Windows rather than a Pi.
All the best
Kevin

Re: ELV Max! Heating control system
Hi guys,
I got my new equipment running. It appears that the manufacturers software will run either local or online... but not both. Is that correct or have I fluffed it at the 1st hurdle
I in the process of installing maxbuddy which has been a pain as I'm on a cubietruck so slightly different. I have apache 2.4 so different again but getting there slowly.
I'm at the point of running maxbuddy headless but it doesn't create the hidden file .maxbuddy
so I'm stuck and don't know how to proceed from there
any ideas?
Sean

Re: ELV Max! Heating control system
Hi Sean,
not sure what you mean with local/online?
Are you talking about the Max! software?
This runs on a PC and throws up a web page to set up the cube. I guess there are other flavours too.
You should be able to set up an on line account and configure the cube locally.
Once you have set up the user/password on line and the cube has "rung home" you will be able to set the cube up either way.
On line changes take some time to propagate back to the cube I've noticed.
Once you have Max!Buddy installed you will need to shut down the Max! software (or vice versa) as only one connection is allowed to the cube at a time.
You're getting there
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Yes I was referring to the Max! software, It seams that If I log into the web page on localhost I have issues with https://max.eq-3.de and vice versa... but
Soooo... all instances of Max! software closed but the problem remains. If I run headless.sh no .maxbuddy is created. I'm rebooting my cubietruck and trying a few other options but no luck yet

AHHHHH! found it!
.maxbuddy has been created in the "root" folder. This must be because I'm using a cubietrck and not a Pi.
So my options/questions are
a) Edit ext-libs where it is (as Root) and all will be well
b) Move .maxbuddy (and change ownership etc) to user home
c) Start again as root
D) Other

No mate,
I've been following Skippiemanz instructions in this thread.
I'd much appreciate it if you could post them.
Another thought is that I could go through the process on a spare raspi and have it as a slave to the cubietruck. Not the most elegant solution, but a solution... maybe

can anyone help me with that issue?
