WIP - E-moticz - Mobile site / app

Post by emke »

Hi,

I'm busy with a mobile site / app to control Domoticz. There needs to be a lot of things done but the basics will work and i would like to share it.

You can download it here: http://bit.ly/1BlhEk6. Just upload this to your Raspberry or something and open the url in your browser. The authentication doesn't work so you can only access it within your private network.

Nice, got it working! I had to adjust my IP and port in the settings (i am running it on 8084 instead of 8080 because the package on my NAS is configured that way).
Will try it further later, but this already looks promising!

Is there a way to configure the IP and port in some settings file? I noticed i also have to adjust the IP and port when i open the page on my phone.

The settings are stored by local storage in your browser. So you only have to save them once (if you open it on another browser you need to insert it again).

Yeah that last part is something that is already annoying me now :P

Some points i found:
- I can also control protected switches.... quite 'dangerous' if i accidentally do that, cause it breaks my events. Please disable this, or ask for the password configured in Domoticz
- No units are shown in the graphs... Yesterday i used 4.3 gas... but 4.3 what ;) (Please add m3/kWh). Also not at the 'Total' (beneath the 'Today') on the Energy tab.
- Maybe better to make the interface completely in English? Or are the 'Groepen' and 'Schakelaars' pulled from Domoticz, and will they be in the language configured in Domoticz?
- Electricity usage not rounded, monday i used 6.072222929292929 when i hover above the graph :P
- Temperature sensors not shown (yet?)

For the rest it works, and looks really good! Also on my phone (LG Nexus 5) it scales really good

I've put the e-domoticz in the www folder. So: domoticz/www/e-domoticz

Looks great, and I wonder what improvements are going to be made. Keep up the good work!

You need to fill in the IP-address and port in the settings-tab or the switches won't appear.

I did an small update: http://bit.ly/18EA4Cf

Fixed:
- Translated everything to English
- Protected switches can't be switched
- Contacts will be showed (closed / open)
- Scenes can be activated in the lights tab

I'm now busy with a full redesign for the energy tab so you can show more information about the energy usage.

Nice :)

It could be me... but i only see the IP of my Domoticz and the e-moticz path in the browser tab. Maybe put in a nice name :) ?
And i still see no temperature sensors... are you planning on adding these?

By the way, my posts maybe sound a bit 'demanding' / 'whining' but it is definately not meant like that! It is meant to make this better / giving you inspiration :)

Thanks :D

One small layout issue in the temperature cell on the dashboard, the degree symbol is showing on the next line on my iPhone 5s. Maybe it's possible to but the temperature value some more to the left.

Nice job and great clean GUI!
I did fill in the IP-address and port as described above but still can't see the switches like in your screenshot in the first post.

edit: after fill in the local IP address it works!

Some remarks:
- Dashboard is still empty but Lights tab works (edit: works after clearing cache in browser)
- scrolling page in browser (on PC) does not work

and It would be nice if the most recent version is attached in the first post?

Looking good! Have yet to try it in a real situation.

Nice to see someone making a client-side app using Angular. (I was thinking of making something with Ember, myself, but I'm still learning it...). Anybody have any experience as to the performance compared to the other "frontpages"?

Anyhow, seeing as you're using Angular, I thought perhaps you'd like to take a look at the angular-gridster directive - found at http://goo.gl/tdbdpU - to make a really nice, configurable grid. I am looking at integrating Gridster with Ember, but it's not done as nicely as it is with Angular.

Keep up the good work!

It's indeed build in Angular. actually in Ionic, a mobile extension of Angular: http://ionicframework.com. I looked for a couple of mobile frameworks and Ionic worked the best for me. The nice thing is that you can also compile the code to an real Android or iOS app. That's something i really would like to try but 99 dollar is a little to much for an experiment.

For now i'm working on the design for the energy page and tweak the graphical interface. Later on something like Gridster would also be an nice addition.

Nice work!

For your next update: you probably know, but just in case: currently the Philps Hue Lamps are not visible yet. As is also the case for normal dimmers.
Probably because you have to find a nice way to implement the sliders and the color picker?
