Re: domoticz in synology as package! Available now.
hi there,
I'm trying to get Domoticz running on my DS214+ DSM5.1-5022 Update 3. I've got a RazBerry controller on a Pi I'm trying to connect to.
I've installed SynoZWave and then the Domoticz package. Both installed correctly and run properly (thanks for all the work setting up the package too!)
When I try and add hardware I can see RazBerry Z-Wave via LAN Interface (HTTP) - and this connects.
But I can't see any OpenZwave options.
Have a missed something along the way? Is it better to use OpenZWave for this set-up?
Thanks,
Geoff.

I'm on Chrome. I did a cache clear and hard reload for the Domoticz domain - that's not fixed it.
I do have it working using HTTP - which does the job. I'm not sure if that's the best option.

domoticz in synology as package! Available now.
I have the same problem as moonface.
I installed the Domoticz application on My Synology with the package automatically.
But I don't have any device type for my Aeon Lab Z stick on dropdownlist (see domoticz.jpg).
How can I install an Open Z wave pakage to recognize my device ?

Trying to upgrade manually, but it won't.
It should be a newer version, or not?

@mschut
This helped me to sort out the version problems. I had to re-boot my Syno between reinstalls, otherwise it failed to install Domoticz!Decipher wrote:At some point the numbering of the SynoCommunity changed to more closely reflect that of the numbering in the Domoticz history file. The Syno sees 2.0.2276-6 to be an earlier version number than 2246-7.
I was not involved with this project at that time, it just is what it is. The simplest solution is to backup your Domoticz DB, uninstall and reinstall.

Thanks, I was hoping to prevent this scenario.

Well, at least I can confirm that it works. But yes, it does take about 5 minutes and 10 mouse clicksmschut wrote:Thanks, I was hoping to prevent this scenario.

I performed the upgrade by uninstalling and installing manually. The first thing my Synology said, was that I should upgrade the domoticz package. Guess what. It did the upgrade to the previous version.

Yes, that is what happens (if you don't read)...
A couple of post up on this page I quoted Decipher and his explanation of the new version numbering.
Your Syno thinks it can upgrade Domoticz, but downgrades. This is due to the altered history numbering. Hopefully this will get sorted out soon. In the meantime you could upgrade mnanually (backup and restore your database) and ignore the update message.

FYI Synocommunity's database has been updated to .2284 - at least the cross compiler is updated to make 2284 versions.

I don't get it, I'm trying to install domoticz from synocommunity, but it only shows this build:
v2.0.2112-5
Isn't this an old package?
When installed, I cant update.

Same question here, i am interested in the most actual version for the Synology that is available.thruhge wrote:I don't get it, I'm trying to install domoticz from synocommunity, but it only shows this build:

I installed the package from the SynoCommunity repo through package center a few months ago and updated it to 2284 (which i shouldn't have done i read somewhere).
https://synocommunity.com/package/domoticz also still shows 2.0.2112-5

When I try to make Domoticz update itself, the log shows:
2015-04-04 16:38:43.482 Executing script: /usr/local/domoticz/scripts/update_domoticz

The second line is RED.
How can I solve this?

Just installed domoticz_armada370-5.1_2.0.2362-6.spk from https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc ... t-91066842 on my DS114 and so far seems to work fine.

Also installed from github and 2.0.2362 is working here on a DS413 qoriq 5.1.
RFCXOM is fine, but having problems with USB permissions for a Z-Wave stick, the Domiticz log file includes this: Error, ERROR: Cannot open serial port /dev/ttyUSB1. Error code 13
I can just about find my way around with Telnet (although I'm not familiar with Linux), permissions are OK for the port with RFXCOM plugged in:
DiskStation> ls -l /dev/ttyUSB0
crwxrwxrwx 1 root root 188, 0 Apr 10 15:44 /dev/ttyUSB0
But not OK for the Z-Wave port:
DiskStation> ls -l /dev/ttyUSB1
crw------- 1 root root 188, 1 Apr 10 14:44 /dev/ttyUSB1
How can I change the permissions for /dev/ttyUSB1?

Apparently not
DiskStation> chmod 777 /dev/ttyUSB1
chmod: /dev/ttyUSB1: Operation not permitted

You can only do that if your telnet session is 'root' itself....
