Network Security key and Kwikset locks

Post by clang »

Hello,

I have searched the boards for help, but I am not finding the answers I need - maybe my search-fu is lacking......

I have multiple Raspberry Pi boards controlling z-wave networks in several houses, and a master Domoticz instance through which I can monitor all local instances. All instances are 2133

In one home I am attempting to enable security features, including a set of Kwikset z-wave enabled deadbolt locks. Open z-wave in Domoticz recognizes the locks. There is an entry in the manufacturer specific xml file, but it does not point to a config file (there is not one). In the Hardware list under Open Zwave setup, I can see each lock, but the status is a question mark instead of a check or moon under status, and never updates.

028 (0x1c) Back Door Lock Kwikset Touchpad Electronic Deadbolt 2014-11-24 08:29:55 false ? Heal node
027 (0x1b) Front door Lock Kwikset Touchpad Electronic Deadbolt 2014-11-24 08:29:55 false ? Heal node
026 (0x1a) Garage Door Lock Kwikset Touchpad Electronic Deadbolt 2014-11-24 08:29:55 false ? Heal node

No devices ever appear in the device list for the node.

What should I be looking for to debug? Are the Kwikset locks not supported, even though they have an entry in the Manufacturer_Specific.xml file?

I have a network security key defined, and it is the same in the z-stick config and in the options.xml file. Should the options.xml file be moved from the Config directory to some other location?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have had similar problems. I tried this approach: https://code.google.com/p/open-zwave/wi ... ces_to_OZW
but still no luck.

Thanks for the reply. I have followed the instructions there as well. My system recognizes that I have added a door lock, it knows the manufacturer and model. I now get an alarm type and alarm level device for the lock, but no other devices. The alarm trips when the door is unlocked, and resets after it is locked, so the communication seems to be there, but I am unable to activate the lock via Domoticz..... I'm going to try a different brand of lock just to see.

Please let me know if you have any luck. I do get communication, but no ability to lock/unlock. It also seems to make my network unstable if I leave it on for very long. Probably an openzwave issue.
