Hi All,

I'm trying to retrace the steps taken by others on this thread. I've got console access and telnetd running. The mount points are:

Code: Select all

# mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on / type squashfs (ro,relatime)
proc on /proc type proc (rw,relatime)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,relatime)
tmpfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw,relatime)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,relatime,mode=600)
/dev/mtdblock3 on /rom type jffs2 (rw,relatime)
/dev/mtdblock4 on /npc type jffs2 (rw,relatime)
tmpfs on /mnt/ramdisk type tmpfs (rw,relatime,size=20480k)
tmpfs on /etc type tmpfs (rw,relatime,size=20480k)
tmpfs on /tmp type tmpfs (rw,relatime,size=20480k)
However, when I try and modify something on /npc (ie to create the startup script to run telnetd), I'm getting:

Code: Select all

# touch /npc/foo
touch: /npc/foo: No space left on device
/npc is on mtdblock4, and from the uboot args I can see:

Code: Select all

bootargs=mem=28M console=ttyAMA0,115200 root=/dev/mtdblock2 rootfstype=squashfs mtdparts=hi_sfc:384k(boot),2048k(kernel),2560k(rootfs),320k(rom),-(app)
I'm running firmware 13.1.1.36. Did you guys have to do something to be able to modify files on /npc/ ?

Thanks,
Pete

I worked out how to roll back, and when running 13.1.1.30 I can write to the /npc partition.

Hi,
couple of years ago I modified my doorbell starting with the information from this thread. I can see this thread is still active. For those interested I published a Github repository at https://github.com/phpcoder/doorbell-customize with a description of my mod. Hope it helps.
Cheers.

Apologies for reviving this historical thread. I have the same intercom, unfortunately although I love electronics, I can't say I'm as savy as some of you guys on here with network protocols and linux cmds. My outdoor unit works fine still, the indoor unit stopped ringing. Power goes in, it lights up attempts to play tunes when i press the switches but no audio comes out. Volume adjusted still, speaker replaced and also tried with headphones to be sure whether audio is emitted but nada/nothing. Feels like the audio drive microchip is having issues clearly.

Do i have any hope of replacing the indoor unit? It works wirelessly through 433Mhz as I'm sure you all know. Even more realistic than finding a replacement I'm also open to wiring an internal siren directly from the outdoor unit. But couldn't find any. I lost the manual, and online is nowhere to be found. The biggest connector on the outdoor unit has three unused wires red green and white. Red has 12v white and green has 3v constant.

I really don't want to replace this intercom as theough its app im able to open the garage door as it has a door lock trigger.

Thank you all for any kind of help
