How do I add a secure node/device?

Post by Rewind »

Hello,

I'm struggling already a few days on how to add a zwave device secure.
I'm trying to add a fibaro FGVS-222 device.

I've set the following command in the options.xml file. (in the /home/pi/domoticz/Config folder)
<Option name="NetworkKey" value="0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??,0x??" />
(with the ?? as my keys)

But as soon as i want to add it as a secure node nothing happens. However sometimes domoticz crashed during the setup process.
Some times it adds the device, but still unsecure.. I don't need to fill in a passcode.
I'm using Domoticz Version: 2024.4 with OZW.
I've also tried to add the device in the ozwcp but also without luck. I never get the question to enter a passcode.

I tried already a few times to remove the node, then a hard reset of the fibaro device and then tried to add it again in secure node mode.

Adding the device normally without any security works directly.
Any help would be really helpfull.

hardware: raspberry pi 3
with a AEON USB Stick 5 gen

Sorry I even tried to install HA :o on a different sd card to see if i would be able to get it to work. However I realised very quickly that I prefer Domoticz much more.

There is no support for OpenZWave anymore... Best to migrate to ZWaveJS-UI

You can only set the network key ONCE! Do not change it ever, or all previous nodes could be malfunction

You should just choose 'Include node secure' from the dropdown , or a similar name.. I used it many times!
And the node must support this as well!
Quality outlives Quantity!
