ZWA-2 in Domoticz

Post by Frisk »

I've been running Domoticz quite a time now and for a couple of years thought about upgrading my Aeotec Z-stick 5 to something new. Recently saw the home assistant/nabu casa ZWA-2 which seems very promising and working with zwave-js. Will this just work together with Domoticz as well or are there something "special"about this make it just work with HA and not "general" zwave-js. I don't get any hits at all searching compatibility with Domoticz or zwave-js general.

I'll soon move from my old raspberry pi 3 with open z-wave to an pi5, seems like the right time to swap the stick as well if it is gonna be changed.

If it works with Zwave-JS-UI it will also work with Domoticz as Domoticz uses Zwave-JS-UI now for zwave devices. For Domoticz it is irrelevant what zwave hardware is connected to Zwave-JS-UI.

The old OpenZwave integration is indeed going to be deprecated.

Thanks for a really fast reply!
I thought it should work but wasn't sure if we might be some link of any kind that would make problems.

My setup has got all to little attention lately, just kept it alive at a minimum. When I put the effort to leave OpenZwave I'm also hoping to clean up a bit, change to newer pi (which handles later versions on of MongoDB, of other reasons) upgrade ZWave interface and maybe other hardware etc.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the ZWA-2 as well to upgrade from Z-Wave 500 to Z-Wave 800. We're you able to toggle the LED off on the ZWA-2?

Do you mind checking in zwave-js-ui if this toggle option is available?

I don't mind the size of the zwa-2 but the huge light at the top I definitely would like to toggle off.

Thanks!
