Reolink Doorbell Camera - screenshot notifications -

Post by bord4kop »

For anyone, like me, who is looking for a working a camera and screenshot per mail solution.

Hardware:
Reolink Video Doorbell Wifi
SD card (in the camera unit - this might not be necessary)
Domoticz on Raspberry 4

Setup Hardware
Setup you doorbell/camera on local network (preferably on static ip adress) for example: 192.168.100.200
Setup user/admin account on the Reolink and a password (example: User: admin, PW: Welkom2020!)
Enable HTTPS > in the app: Doorbell > Device Info > Network Info > Advanced

Check in the Reolink app;
- IP adress (example: 192.168.100.200)
- the UID of the camera (you can find it at: Doorbell > Device Info) (example:X1234XY455677XYXY91)

Setup in Domoticz:
- Email notifications: Link to wiki
- Camera Setup: Link to wiki

For camera settings fill in the:
Name: (anything you fancy)
IP adresss: your camera IP
The Port: your camera port (standard should be 443 when on HTTPS)
Username: the camera username
Password: the password to the camera username
Image URL: [this consists of:] HTTPS://< IP of your camera > / cgi-bin/api.cgi?cmd=Snap&channel=0&rs= <UID of your Camera > & <user=YourUsername&password=YourPassword >

For Example it should look something like this:
https://192.168.100.200/cgi-bin/api.cgi ... Welkom2020!

Snapshot or not?

Copy this line into a browser and you should see a snapshot. If not, there is something wrong and it must be fixed first as the setup may not work.

You may also test the setup using the "test' option in Domoticz, but this did not work for me. The screenshot appeared when saving though.

Send notification / email action:
When all is fine and a snapshot is shown;
- link the setup to the -newly created < see above > - button: Link to wiki
- Setup notifications on the button to email you with the snapshot of the camera (use the notifications option on the button) [
Check the WIKI at: wiki.domoticz.com/Managing_Devices#Edit_Notifications%7C when unsure.

PS: You can now "push" the [doorbell] button to trigger it and it should send a snapshot. At my place it also rings the chimes :D

Setup in Domoticz:
- Email notifications: Link to wiki
PS: Here I think the WIKI is not completely correct; you should setup a -new- button to link the camera to (see: Send notification / email action: below). Do this first.
...
I think this part of the Camera wiki tells it correctly already, isn't it?? https://wiki.domoticz.com/Camera_Setup# ... itch/Light
Domoticz running on Udoo X86 (on Ubuntu)
Devices/plugins: ZigbeeforDomoticz (with Xiaomi, Ikea, Tuya devices), Nefit Easy, Midea Airco, Omnik Solar, Goodwe Solar

I have a Reolink Video Doorbell PoE-W. To get it working I had to enable http in the settings of the camera.
https did not work, although ii is enabled.

Do you mean push the doorbell button in Domoticz or push the doorbell button on the Reolink?
If it is the last one I missed how that is working.

Maybe the following setup is interesting for someone:
I accomplished the last in the following way in combination with Synology Surveillance Station.
1. Added the Reolink (I have the D340W) to Domoticz. No problem. You can see video, You can take a snapshot.
2. Added the Reolink to the Synollogy Surveillaqnce station. You can make use of the AI detection events.
You can define "Action rules" that are triggered by these events and sent something to a webhook passing the event.
in my case: http://IPaddress:Portnumber/d340w/doorbell (or person, or ... etc.)
3. I created a docker mqtt-client that captures this and sent a message to MQTT server.
4. MQTT-mapper plug-in gets this message in Domoticz and creates a switch for it.
5. Switch for Doorbell, Person, motion, or whatever event you want to capture switch goes ON when the event occurs.
6. A DzVents script is triggered by change of this switch and activates commands to take some snapshots, or what you want and under conditions you define (e.g. I am at home or not).
Most of the time it works surprisingly fast.
Dz on Ubuntu VM on Proxmox behind FRITZ!Box.
EvoHome; MELCloud; P1 meter; Z-Stick GEN5; Z-Wave-js-ui; Sonoff USB-Dongle Plus-E; Zigbee2Mqtt; MQTT; Greenwave powernodes 1+6; Fibaro switch, plugs, smoke; FRITZ!DECT 200. Scripts listed in profile interests.
