SETUP
------
Domoticz 2024.7 on RPI3
8 years Gas/El history
4 years temperature history
PROBLEM
-------
Now experiencing added temperature sensors only have a current data value but do not log even when set to used in the device setup.
Sensors can be replace with new index after batteries have 'died' and been replace with new batteries. Than logging continues.
New added temperature sensors are not shown after being added in the temperature tab.
The new added sensors index is 3027. I presume this issue started when the index counter crossed somewhere between 1800 and 2800.
CAUSE?!?
--------
My guestimated idea is there is a limitation on this index number.
BACKGROUND/TEST FACILITY
------------------------
I have separate test environment with it's own RfxTrx433 transceiver, and separate Pi and Domoticz and these also catch the same 433 signals so I know nothing is failing from the sensor side.
QUESTION
--------
What can be the cause and can it be fixed?
No new temperature sensors can be added. Topic is solved

Re: No new temperature sensors can be added.
Are they not added to the Tab but are the added to the main device list (menu Setup - Devices)?
Check the current logged in user (see menu Setup - About) and check in menu Setup -Users if that user is an admin (probably so) and if devices are assigned to it. If it has devices assigned to it as an admin remove all those devices from the list. Then you should see all temperature devices in the temperature tab.
For battery change resulting in a new device: Use the replace function (on device widget Edit - Replace) to get the old history in the new device.

Re: No new temperature sensors can be added.
Yes!! This was the solution. Thx very much!
I had no idea before that a user restriction could be the cause.
(Saves me tons of work trying to rescue history data from old setup to new setup with a databasetool, if even/ever possible with SQLLite.)

Re: No new temperature sensors can be added.
Good! So this happened after you have updated to Domoticz 2023.x or 2024.x as it was introduced in 2023. And not after a range of IDX as you assumed.
