Hello,
For weeks I'am suffering from ramdom crashes of my Domoticz. Meanwhile I'am running out of options. I really hope someone can get me back on track.
A crash means a Status active (exited), so I can't use the web GUI anymore.
As I had the idea at a certain moment that SD memory card was the suspect in my first Domoticz system, I started to rebuild a new system on a new RPi (4, 4G) with RPi OS (bookworm). System on SD card.
Installing the plugins and transport of the settings and historie database with backup/restore setting, I got a copy of my first Domoticz system.
Version: 2024.4
Build Hash: 731719420
Compile Date: 2024-01-30 09:16:34
dzVents Version: 3.1.8
Python Version: 3.11.2 (main, Mar 13 2023, 12:18:29) [GCC 12.2.0
Plugins:
Domoticz-deCONZ
KNMI
iDetect
AwoxSMP (was already installed)
Domoticz has links with Dashticz, Influxdb-Grafana, MQTT, Node Red.
Random crashes mean that it is not predictable how long the system remains stable. Maybe a few minutes, half an hour or 1.5 days.
I tried to run: ./domoticz -www 8080 -sslwww 443 -log "/var/log/domoticz.log" -loglevel all -debuglevel normal,auth,hardware,received,webserver,eventsystem,python,thread_id
which delivered a very long list of data, for hours, but no crash data, as the system remains stable....
I will attach the latest domoticz_crash.log, name domoticz_crash_29_3.log .
Thanks for your help already.
Afterburmer.

See also the troubleshooting wiki. A failing power supply is also a known root cause for crashes. https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Troubleshooting

Re: Random crashes Domoticz
It is a problem with Tado hardware --> device "Node 0000105 = home Mijn Huis zone "
Could it be a missing zone? Or the space between Mijn and Huis?
I don't have a Tado thermostat so can't help you further.
If possible, you could try to disable the Tado hardware for a while, just to be sure.

Re: Random crashes Domoticz
Hello,
RPi4 hardware configuration is different than yours. For those using AEOTEC Z Wave Controller USB dongles, as is my case, RPi support goes as far as claiming that these dongles maybe do not respect USB specifications. If external dongles are connected to your RPi, you could try using an external USB 2.0 Hub with own power supply. In my particular case, it works!
Hope this helps.
