sonoff dongle -P vs -E?
so i have a dongle -P and i want to get a spare one just in case something happens, but the -P seems outdated and hard to find, if i get a dongle -E could i simply copy the settings from my -P to -E ?
and what is the diffreance between the two?

P is based on Texas Instrument chipset while E is on the SiliconLabs

If you use Zigbee2MQTT, you can find information about both type of adapters in section for supported adapters. E version (with EFR32MG21 chip) should work too but still has experimental support in Zigbee2MQTT only. I use recommended P version (based on CC2652P chip) without issues. You can still buy P version in Sonoff official shop here they still sell both versions.

Re: sonoff dongle -P vs -E?
thanks for your help, i´ve also been looking for a way to make a backup of the stick, but it seem quite difficult to find a way, can i make a backup of the nodes on the dongle somehow?
and if i manage to make a backup can this be installed on another dongle P or E?

If you're using Zigbee2Mqtt, and keep the same series of chipset (meaning Cxxxx), you can swap you stick without needing to repair anything (https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/faq/#h ... to-another).
If swap is different (including different brands of chips), this will probably mean you'll have to repair all your devices, as backup seems to be firmware specific.

Z4d relies on zigpy radio libs and you can swap between P , E and even Conbee

And I can testify that the Sonoff E and the Conbee dongle work fine with Z4D. One can swap the dongle and only adapt the chipset in the settings without re-pairing.

Re: sonoff dongle -P vs -E?
thank you all for your answers, im running zigbeefordomoticz, so you mean that i can just replace the sonoff dongle and it would work emediately?
are all the nodes saved in the plugin itself?
so instead of getting a dongle -P i could instead go for the dongle -E and it would work after i have changed the settings in the hardware meny in domoticz?

Yes. Under ‘hardware’, ‘zigbee for domoticz’ just change the ‘coordinator model’ to the appropriate chipset ‘Silicon Labs EZSP’ for the Sonoff model E dongle.
