New software Nodoshop OTGW
Hi.
I just found the new software written by Robert van den Breemen for the good old OTGW with ESP8266
Is there somebody around here who managed to get it working in Domoticz. I have lots of working MQTT devices but the provided installation instructions (Github) are mostly based upon HomeAutomation.
TIA
-Bart

I only can give you the wiki page that I created based on some information found on the net https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Opentherm_Gateway_OTGW
There is also a specific sub forum for OTGW viewforum.php?f=26

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
Thanks Waltervl but this wiki does not informs how to configure the software on the OTGW for Domoticz MQTT.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
Indeed as it is supported with a integration so no need for MQTT.
If OTGW supports to the home assistant auto discover mqtt protocol it will be a matter to enable it on the OTGW side. If you have already an MQTT AD hardware enabled on Domoticz with homeassistant as discovery prefix the OTGW devices will be discovered instantly.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
When I look on this Esp OTGW wiki https://github.com/rvdbreemen/OTGW-firm ... -or-others it is just a matter of switch on and MQTT AD in Domoticz will find it.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
OK, I figured out how to create the MQTT Auto Discovery Client Gateway with LAN interface.
Adress: localhost port 1883. Press add button and yes. It's there.
I already found that the OTGW esp is running (MQTT explorer).
Then I pressed the settings button on MQTT Auto Discovery Client Gateway with LAN interface.
A new window opens but nothing happens further.
What else do I have to do more?

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
No need to do anything with the setup.
Devices related to mqtt ad hardware should be added in your device list. Else check the Domoticz log. There should be entries there.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
In Domoticz: maybe a reboot is needed? After that you have to enable them in devicelist.
Most of them will show up in Utilities and some in Temp list.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
Almost there!
Amazing the devices are automaticly created and enabled for the several pages. I expected that the gateway should be visible at hardware mqtt ad setting but no nothing to see overthere.
All works as expected and there are a bunch of more devices I never saw before.
Just one problem left. If I want to set the roomtenperature (thermostat) that setting is not working. After a while the former value is back on the Domoticz thermostat device but I am not sure wheter Domoticz or the gateway has problems.
BTW The log shows that I did a setting. Maybe Mqtt Explorer can give info. Problem with the mqtt explorer is that there are so many values and quickly changing.

And also check the logging on the esp-otgw as that should receive the changed setting.BartSr wrote: ↑Friday 27 October 2023 11:59 Almost there!

If esp-otgw creates number devices (you should have a homeassistant/number folder in mqtt explorer) then those devices are visible in the MQTT AD hardware Setup page. These number devices are typically used for one time settings.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
Your question about set the roomtemperature has a reason... there must be a setting: overide or so. Not sure where..
What brand and model of roomthermostat?
Edit:
Not clear which sensor you use, in which menu.
You have to choose Room setpoint in Utilities menu.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
for info
before used the old nodoshop software. this had limitations but with that software I could set roomtemperature from domoticz. known bug: only changes for 1degree ( no 0.5) settings possible.
Config now
new software
esp on hardware otgw
domoticz 2023.2
all devices show up in domoticz
roomthermostat shows thermostat set value
once thermostatvalue is changed via Domoticz I see a set value with mqtt explorer
otmonitor does not show new override value
after a while domoticz thermostat shows original value (before new setting)
temp override value can be done from otmonitor
is this sufficient info?
thanks
Bart

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
When using latest beta 2023.2 the Domoticz thermostat device has a step setting so you can change the step from 0.5 to 1 degrees.
See https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Dummy_for ... t_Setpoint for an example screenshot.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
@waltervl: I gues that bart has that choice too. He wrote that he uses v2023.2.
But he did not answer question about brand and model of his thermostat.. some do not accept an interferance from man in the middle. Or maybe the boiler gives trouble?
But i am not an expert.
I bought a second hand iSense thermostat with the right firmware.
My advice: ask more questions at otgw forum at Tweakers.net

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
Pieters, sorry. Forgot to mention. It's Honywell Chromoterm Touch modulation. Before I used the iSense but due to the fact that heatpumpsettings can only be set via Honywellthermostat I had to the change.
Waltervl, yes I can select .5 values but in former software Bron Schelte (developer OTGW) confirmed that you can't use those with the Honywell thermostat.

Re: New software Nodoshop OTGW
That is not what I want to tell you.
By default A domoticz thermostat device has a 0.5 degrees step so if yo have current temp set to 22 degrees next step is 22.5 and then 23.
Your Thermostat cannot handle the 22.5 value.
In Domoticz Beta you can now set a thermostat so that it sets only in steps of 1 degree from 22 directly to 23 (and 24, 25 etc) so you cannot make false settings anymore....

No.
Normally 2x per year so early next year would be my best guess.

@waltervl: not glad to read about such a resolution of one degree. In Domoticz Beta you can now set a thermostat so that it sets only in steps of 1 degree from 22 directly to 23 (and 24, 25 etc) so you cannot make false settings anymore....
This seems to go back into the past.
Will there be a setting to choose .5 degree in the software?
And what do you mean with false settings?
