install influxdb on raspberry pi 3b?

Post by willemd »

I wanted to install a influxDB on my Raspberry Pi 3B v1.2 but so far failed.

Has anyone installed this on that version of the Pi?

When I go to the influx website I see so many different install instructions that I get very confused which one to follow .... and the ones I followed so far all fail at some point.

1) for version 2.6 apparently a raspberry Pi 4 is needed? https://docs.influxdata.com/influxdb/v2 ... spberry+Pi When I ignore that and follow the Linux installation instructions I get the message that it is not the right type of hardware (armhf instead of arm66). I guess because it is not a raspberry pi 4?
2) if I go to the downloads page and select debian arm 64 bit then in the end it cannot find i nfluxdb2 (https://portal.influxdata.com/downloads/)
3) when I follow some other online instructions such as https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-influxdb/ in the end a get a timeout when I want to start it up

So:
1) which version of influxdb can I use?
2) how to install it?

To answer my own question, and for anyone trying to do the same...

I found a guide on how to install on buster, which is what I am using.
https://v2.mycontroller.org/docs/gettin ... -influxdb/
This completed without error messages.

I noticed this was installing influxdb version 1.8 instead of 2.6 and I subsequently found the documentation related to that version.
https://docs.influxdata.com/influxdb/v1 ... n/install/

So after installation I created an admin user, created a database, and completed the data push settings in domoticz.

Tomorrow I will continue to add devices. So far, things look o.k.
