Problems with RazBerry 7 Pro and Domoticz

Post by FrankCGN »

Hi.
I wanted to update my Domoticz installation (so far a RaZberry 2 board and Domoticz v4.10717).
For this I want to use a new RaZberry 7 Pro board and a Raspi 3B+. The Domoticz installation will be completely re-done and I want to re-learn all my devices on the new RaZberry 7 board.
Unfortunately I can't get the RaZberry 7 board to work without errors.
I have updated the RaZberry 7 board to firmware 7.28 using the Z-Way software.

With a fresh installation under Buster and the stable version 2022.1 of Domoticz I get a driver error when Bluetooth is not deactivated.
If I disable Bluetooth (via the /boot/config.txt and additionally disable driver loading via raspi-blacklist.conf) the OpenZWave driver is loaded without error, the controller is recognized as a node, but the type of the controller is unknown.

If I try to include a Z-Wave device, I get an error.

Under Bullseye with the last Domoticz Beta I get the error "Z-Wave: Type_Notification, NodeID not found internally! HomeID: 0, NodeID: 255 (0xff)".

With the Z-Way software v3.2.3 the board runs without problems and I can add devices.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can get the RaZberry 7 Pro board to work with Domoticz?

Other option is to migrate from OpenZWave to Zwave JS UI (formerly ZwaveJS2MQTT). I use older version of board - RaZberry 2 (RaZberry Controller 2016 ZWave+) and it works much better for me since I migrated to Zwave JS UI. I do not have experience with RaZberry 7 Pro board but is supported too

You can follow instructions on Domoticz wiki (just replace ZwaveJS2MQTT to Zwave JS UI):

@ferrosk thanks for the tip. I was already thinking if ZwaveJS2MQTT or Zwave JS UI can be an alternative to OpenZWave, but I was not sure. But if you say that this works, then I will also take a closer look. Did you install Zwave JS UI as a Docker container or directly in the system?

Hi, yes I'm running Zwave JS UI in Docker.
